@VampireLord123: "yes they work 12 hours a day six days a week, but they get to rest from 1 to 2 hours every day, they even have their own beds in their workplace."
You just described terrible working conditions. If I'm ever in an office where I need to keep a bed, I'm immediately looking for a new job.
Um...that's kind of what contractors are for...they're disposable bodies so you don't burn out your star talent. However, the flip side of that coin of that is they're contractors...they should be negotiating megabucks for overtime.
I'll walk through all 9 levels of hell of bad leadership, poor co-workers, and shit working conditions for the right amount of cash and bonuses.
@elmarine2064:I disagree with corporate having bad working conditions...as a professionally developer of 20 years, I've only seen the types of conditions described by Treyarch and EA employees a handful of times. In general, the industry isn't that bad.
However, I do agree with the last statement...it's a developer's market right now. I don't know why anyone would work in those conditions. I'm getting hit with 1 or 2 excellent offers a month. If I had a complaint about my working conditions, and management or leadership wasn't responsive about it...it'd be trivial to find an employer that does care these days.
That's too bad...The money grabs in this industry are getting tough to stomach. Oh well, I can wait for it for another 2 years and grab the complete collection on clearance for 19.95$.
@Asm92784: Because you find out about a broken game on launch day usually. If a publisher has already made their money back by launch day, there's no incentive to fix the problem...Anthem comes to mind.
