I don't get what's so hard about making the rules black and white with no grey in between. I also don't get why anyone would be opposed to having rules in black and white.Alessandro_RI think I've explained it as clearly as I possibly can. I understand you might not like it but these are the rules you are going to follow to continue as an active member. Personally I think this is a very good thing and will improve the quality of the contribution we see on the boards and in the comments. You are free to disagree, however it won't change the expectation on you to act in a manner that is not detrimental to the rest of the community.

That would make a whole lot of sense.
And how come you're a mod all of a sudden?
Been posting here a while, nearly 2 years, don't recall ever seeing you before the last month or so, and usually, I know the regulars.
He's a grizzled ancient SW veteran. Starting posting same year I did back in 2006. He was a moderator on SW. Left in 2008 (right?) for reasons unknown to me, but now he's back! From outer spa- err, here. Checking back it was 2009, but yeah rest is spot on. :PWhen my name is in Orange assume I'm in a terrible mood. :)[QUOTE="cakeorrdeath"][QUOTE="NameIess_One"]
Since that basically means mods will be (are) handing out moderations depending on their state of mind and personal feelings about posters, may I suggest an idea?
Have some visual cues to alert us on the mod's mood, like username flashing red when they're pissed.

I am from before your time, find anyone who has been around a bit longer than you and they will remember me :)Moderator Discretion is back and it is just as unexplained as ever under reason as it was before.JakandsigzIf you receive a strike it will be made very clear to you why you have received it.

Ad is really targerting the hardcore audiance. Avergage guy on the street would have no idea what most of that even meant.
such a creative threadJohn_MathersonWe've made the best of it. Why not try and add to the conversation rather than criticising it :)
I don't have a faction and all the mods were selected on the basis that the gamespot community managers trust them to behave in a forthright manner. All that is being asked of you here is to not deliberately and continuously try and offend and attack other users.Pretty much yeah, this is saying "if you belong to my faction, it's alright, if you don't, 1st strike".
