I actually got my start playing this one at my aunt and uncle's as a kid. Years later I bought the NES cart for my own, so I don't need to buy it for the Wii, but if I didn't already have it, it'd be a must buy for me. It's basically the perfect NES game for the dedicated audience that still enjoys sidescrolling elements in addition to a bunch of other variations on gameplay.

So, did anyone buy Blaster Master on the VC? It's a bonafide classic of the NES era that it seems like only the hardcore NES users seemed to ever play. It's a shame to not be able to find any reviews of it online because I'd love to see this one get more attention. It's sort of like Metroid if Metroid made any sense, had amazing graphics and music and even better gameplay.
Did the Wii deliver? I think it may have delivered in a different way than anyone imagined. I don't think anyone would have guessed the impact of Wii Sports and seeing as that type of thing caught on so much called for a slight change of action. I don't think for a second Nintendo abandoned the dedicated crowd, but the problem was that only the minigame stuff sold because everything Nintendo did, they did better than their competitors. I don't think that should be a knock on their system when the first party (best) stuff which is phenomenal is selling like mad. The system never quite brought forth the FPS and whatnot that a lot of people would have liked, but at the same time the console never got a fair crack at it to begin with. COD WaW is going to be bought on the 360 or PS3 by most people, so the Wii really only gets the sales on that game to people who don't own the other consoles. I don't think anything would steal those games to the Wii userbase. The Wii did get some decent to really great FPS/light gun games that simply got overshadowed by people going insane over 360 shooters.
It's hard to answer the question as a person who owns all three consoles, but the fact of the matter is I own 30 Wii games that are either exclusives or have control schemes altered to make them closer to the Wii experience. And, that doesn't count Virtual Console games. So, I don't think it's crazy to say that the Wii can perform alongside the 360 considering I have 60 games for it. I may have double the games for the 360, but that's only because the prices on used 360 games are way, way lower than used Wii games. Sure, I'd still probably have a few more 360 games, but it would be very close.
Well looking at the vote results more people dislike or dont respect nintendo i just dont think they come up with many new games they just recycle the same games over and over again and the third party games are dreadfulshoemen22
Unlike every FPS in existance (ie: the core of the 360 userbase), right?
What irks me the most is everyone here seems to think they're the hardcorest of hardcores when they only have one console? Now if monetary situations hold you back, sure, I understand it. But if you can afford at least 2/3 of them, I can't see why you'd be an insane fanboy to one console when there's obviously great games on every system. I mean, get a grip, you know?
I just don't see the appeal of online gaming without the use of a headset. You may as well just set the computer to Legendary/Veteran/Insane/etc... and play the campaign if you don't talk.
Nintendo 'abandoned' the hardcore gamers after the hardcore gamers abandoned Nintendo for two generations straight.Ragnarok1051The hardcore didn't abandon Nintendo. The hardcore was all that Nintendo had.
That is so full of crap and you know it.
