I have to agree that Mario 64 was more influential than Banjo Kazooie. Banjo was the better game, but it came out 2 years after Mario. To me it's pretty obvious that Banjo took more from Mario, then other platformers took from Banjo: - Jiggies came from power stars. - Notes came from coins. - Jinjos came from red coins. - Then you have the similar overworlds with the outside and inside of Peach's castle/Grunty's Lair and the link to all of the hub worlds inside.
