as long as you have a wireless router in house you should be a-ok...you will just have to get friend codes in order to play against (with) others online...
i don't think it is the battery for the micro itself...but the game...there is a small watch battery in the game...on some of the old gbc carts that were clear you could see them...so i think you would actually have to change the battery in the cart...
