Goodnight, I'm looking for an RPG with romance, that ties somewhat with the story, the golden standard being Mass Effect.

Without being (Fable, Dragon Age series, Alpha Protocol, Witcher, FF, BoundByFlame, KOTOR, NWinter, Dragons Dogma)

Yeah, I've heard quite good things on Jade Empire, but it feels kind of filler of Bioware, don't get me wrong, it's one of the greatest RPG classics, but I don't feel like investing in a world that won't get any follow up since its fate is already sealed.

Total war, yes, I've played Medieval 2, had more of the family aspect and generation sort of thing, but having bought Rome 2, I think I will try to see if its actually any good, although they dumbed down the family system of the game or so I've heard. And Gore being bought as DLC, and failing on SO many promisses on launch that they had to relaunch as Emperor's edition, they must clearly want to take EA from that spot.

RoG appears to be more of a God of War linear game, I do not enjoy so much that corridor genre.

I'm waiting on Witcher 3 for PS4, since my laptop is powerfull but not PS4-powerful, and I would get the most enjoyment. Although DA:I's FPS on PS4 are just dredful.

Thank you for your answer.

Agarest seems to be the most appealing, since I've played through every Bioware series game, except Jade Empire , the graphics might be a turn off, but we'll see how it turns out.

I know the title is a bit confusing, but I don't know why but I've been looking for a kind of game that as you caring for others, interancting or even managing, I would prefer it if it would be in a family like sense, but it can also be romance with Love Interest or crew management let it be RPG, a sandbox game or 4X.

Game I've played that fit in this weird description:

  • Skyrim - fits pretty well, with NPCs that you care and it allows you to bond, although the children part of the game is lacklusting.

  • Minecraft with Minecraft Comes Alive - being itself a mod as its limitations but good nonetheless, trying to find what can be done of entertaining in Minecraft except the mod.

  • Mass Effect trilogy - I've tried many Bioware games but this trilogy tops everything, it has most of what I want in it and a great plot, characters, and makes you care for them.

  • Crusader Kings 2 - although I didn't enjoy it that much, but its entertaining for the first hours at least, it is pretty good with the aspect of generations

Are there any games that you can suggest that somewhat fit in this genre?

Well I played through some of the Consortium, although I was hoping it was something of a "start as soldier, end up as captain on multiple adventures", I think it is more of a, like you said, solving murder situation, it had such potential, but meh

FTL would be the perfect fit for me, if it wasn't so small in everything, i mean you have multiple paths to take, but you don't have true freedom, you feel like you are a flying space bomb, each time you advance, the more instable it gets untill it eventually explodes, its like Dungeon of the Endless, only with spaceships.

I don't mind playing dated games, but playing games prior to 2000/2010 era, might be a turn down for me, I will search for this Independence War series, but as I said, if it is too old it might not appeal that much to me, the games now have set a minimum standard for me unfortunately.

Yes, the title just sounds like Mass Effect, but I already played through the trilogy multiple times, and there's been an empty space in me because of this game...

And so I was looking for a game, that was about exactly what the title says:

  • Crew management - the type of game where you have to worry about your crew's psych and feel you are the leader of it.
  • Sci-fi Spaceship
  • (Bonus) If you could be the captain of a ship and fly around that would also be cool

I already looked at FTL but it is a GREAT concept but at a small scope, I always feel the game is such a small universe, was looking at CONSORTIUM since on paper in steam, it does look like the sort of game I am seeking, though I am worried it is an FPS or something and not a Spaceship management/Crew management game, I also heard of the free game Universal Combat of AD3000 but not sure if it is my cup of tea, being a free game and all, not that I despise such games, I just am not sure I should trust it only to be disappointed.

So what games are out there that fall into my category?
