This is going to be the next meme game like Sea of Thieves on youtube and twitter. Microsoft providing us with fun without even having to buy their games or console. Next up: Crackdown 3

I had more fun with The Last of Us multiplayer than the campaign. The only MP I'd say Naughty Dog has nailed since Crash Team Racing, they created a truly tense MP experience.

If Naughty Dog can replicate the experience with The Last of Us Part 2 it'll be one of the best multiplayer experiences this gen. Hope the people behind Uncharted 4 multiplayer stay far away from it. Don't add too much dumb shit to an already amazing experience, just add a co-op mode and we're good.

Do the Souls games count? They blend the multiplayer aspects into the campaign. Curious what kind of multiplayer Death Stranding might have since it sounds like Kojima wants to do something new with that.

@creepywelps: who is a WoW player?

@recloud: Zar is.

WoW is one of the many games I play. Also at the moment I play Witcher 3, Farcry 5, HoTs, Dota, Overwatch, LoL, CS:GO, Total War, Divinity II etc.

But yes, Sports and Movie games are designed for non gamers. Someone who logs in once a week to play FIFA or Uncharted is likely not a gamer. This is what Playstation is designed for, the soccer moms who just don't have the time, interest, or effort for actual games.

Nothing wrong with that. Sony could even use that as a marketing point. I know I'd rather play with soccer moms than nerds.

If true it would be like 10 years off. Their new IP comes first.

Game has been available for PS4 and PC for a year now. Not much to get excited about.

A one year old game is pretty new for Xbox gamers these days.

@biack_goku: So, it was cool when the Sony didn't release PS3 sales, though?

Read a couple posts up. Sony still provided us with PS3 sales figures.

Exactly. Not all multiplayer games have legs as shown by Sea of Thieves, not sure what's so hard to understand. There are just as many failures (if not more) as there are success stories.

Far more failures. It's just that XBox fans have been running with blinders on since 2010 and tend to bias towards only things that are stupidly successful. Probably why, at the end of the day, there really aren't a whole lot of them. Real gamers do all the experimenting, conservibone players show up late to the party and pretend to be well dressed.

Sea of Thieves, itself, is a victim of this consumerist mentality. MS thought they could swim in the wake of all the rest of the democratized bare-bones MP games. You find about a million or so gullibles to stick around for something like this and promise them the moon just around the corner. You piecemeal a game to them bit by bit and charge a premium for it. It prints money, even if it is bottom feeding off of the plebs of gaming. Less than a million, now? Heh! What are the chances that MS will pull the plug on this and possibly shut Rare down? I mean, who really wants to take the odds?

Good for you if that's your thing, but I've been playing MMOs since the original Everquest and know what content actually looks like.

This still makes me laugh. Microsoft has been chasing trends instead of setting them for a while in gaming now.
