I don't think gamespot took into consideration that the classic controller doesn't have motion control built in, which this game requires for certain things.

Seriously?

So Chevy should stop making the Corvette?

Coke should stop making Coke?

Companies try for decades to get franchises of Nintendo's notoriety but for some reason you think that's bad?

MadVybz

It's the simple fact that Nintendo is a game company.

I mean hell - if they have the talent to get franchises as big as Mario is, don't you think they could come up with something that's just as good, or even better? I mean he's been in over 200 games! Surely someone is creative enough to make something new. And did I ever imply that Mario, Zelda and Metroid should stop? No. I didn't.

I completely agree. Nothing's wrong about Nintendo introducing something totally new. They've done so well with platforming (mario) adventuring (zelda), shooter/adventure (metroid) and so on and so forth with the extensions of these games. But these franchises cover a lot of ground genre-wise and I think that they focus more on pushing the grounds upon a specific genre they already have franchises in (the next zelda, for instance, will be bigger and better than ever, and same with the next mario game) rather than focusing on something new altogether. But your point is great, because they just keep pushing these respective games further and further (which, I have no problem with) but to push into some new ground that hasn't been explored before by Nintendo (especially Nintendo as a game dev.) would be really great.

Now, though, from Nintendo's perspective--they're not really like most other developers. They really push for the best out of what they have rather than going from one thing to the next, having one thing work and having another thing that completely flops or just isn't that great. I don't see much of that from Nintendo--usually what they come out with, you know what to expect, and you know that it will be good--very stable that way. So for them to jump to something completely new, I think it's a bit hard for them to step out of the box that they've been so comfortable in for so long, and I don't really blame them for that. Their ideas are sound and well thought out, so whatever they do come up with, whether completely new or not, we know we'll have something great.

I don't know if many need to be remade so much as a quick update in graphics and some minor updates to certain things like online compatibility. Similar to what they're doing with Perfect Dark for the 64, bringing that to the Live Arcade with some polished up graphics, and hopefully online play. That's as close to 007 as I think we're going to get, which makes me mad at the people who couldn't come to an agreement for it's re-release. All they can think about is money. Anyway, I'm just more for the updates on old classic's rather than being totally remade. Oh yeah, and Turok 1 for the 64 totally needs an updated re-release.

I'm going with the 360 controller. I know the d-pad is so upsetting to deal with sometimes, but I love it for shooters and most every game where the d-pad isn't used.

It's between Super Mario World and Donkey Kong Country. I can't decide.

SSlater413

For sure. I think we can just leave it at that. They were both amazing; Super Mario World being the first game played on the SNES and remaining one of the best, and the the Christmas DK Country rolled out was amazing. I remember being subscribed to Nintendo Power and them sending me "a making of" VHS for Donkey Kong Country and being so pumped for it. "All the layers of snow snow," and "32-bit graphics on the SNES for the first time" etc. Such a sweet game.

I've noticed that I just have never been the type that follows what new games come out ALL of the time. I still browse and check in once in a while to see, but some people know even new games that were going to come out but were canceled. It had me thinking if I am just the type that is happy getting a game I would like rather new or old, I am not picky at all. So what I want to ask is, is anyone here pretty much satisfied with older games and usually play those more, and do you not care much about the newest stuff coming out and AREN"T in a rush to buy the latest and greatest? I find myself just usually going without buying a game for 6 months at a time, then finally decided to get a game that I don't have, new or old. I am just not frantic about getting the newest stuff, pretty content really. So how about you all?

JmanRBS

I've always had to have the latest and greatest, ever since I can remember. Though, lately, I'm finding it hard to enjoy the games I have for the current gen systems (ps3/360) and have been wanting to go back to the older stuff. If that doesn't work, then maybe I'm just not the gamer I used to be--I don't know...

Okay, enough about how or why you have the game early. I'd like to know how the single player is compared to forza 2. In forza 2 you'd play an even with about 5 races and then get a car at the end of the event. I'd like to know if there's anything more exciting about the single playing in forza 3, or is it the same?

Thanks

the career is based off of a calendar. you choose events and they are scheduled for you, then you also have weekend events which take longer but are championships and have better rewards. but it's cool because even if you pick an event you don't have to follow with that event, you can stray and race other events as well whenever you want. instead of winning cars from races, you win cars from your Driver level.

I have the game but i am not playing it until the 27. I don't want to get banned.

Roxas12934

you won't get banned, as long as it's not pirated you have no need to worry.

Thanks, man. That sounds better to me. I've been playing forza 2 again and it's kind of getting repetitive now that I'm into the latter races where they're like 8 min. races for each of the five in the event. You do get a car half way through the even now usually, so it's not too bad, but I like that it's different in forza 3.

Thanks again.

All right, as far as I'm concerned it wouldn't be such a problem adding the extra stick. The psx' first controllers didn't have any sticks, then they released the first dual shock sometime during the psx' lifecycle. So they went from none to having two, right? I don't see the problem with upgrading the psp go with the second stick, therefore giving the system that option for future games.
