Releasing the IP? That only appears with IP settings. After all the images on hooking everything up, it should ask you the internet type. Tell it DHCP. Then the password (admin). If you have the SecureEasySetup, tell it to skip. If not, it should ask for wireless settings. First will be a name, then the channel. You then choose whether or not to use security. After that, save the settings and click Yes.

If this was not how your disc did things, if you could upload a screenshot somewhere for me to see what the screen looks like I may be able to help you further. It shouldn't be asking about renewing an IP address.

The disc maybe asking for you to input a password to use as the admin password. If you don't want it changed from default, simply put the word "admin" (without the ""). And try from there.

If that doesn't get you any further, then these are from the Linksys support page. I believe you've already tried these, but at least these are more detailed than I have been. :D
Setting-Up the Wireless Settings on a Linksys Router
Encountering Problems Accessing the Router's Web-Based Setup Page when Using Windows Vista

If these don't work, or if putting in admin does move you forward, let me know.

Hmmm. I'm going to look into a few things and see what I can find out, and let you know what I've learned. It may end up to you calling tech support, but we'll see.

so i set it up like last time(which i completly forgo becuase it was like 23 months ago..)da2730da

If it's that old, the wireless side of things could be dead. Though the IP thing is confusing me. Typing 192.168.1.1 should ask for a name and password. Maybe I can force it with a link: here. It's worth a shot. Also when you reset the router, be sure to hold down the button for 10 seconds. That should wipe all settings on the router and allow you to start over. If I think of anything else I'll let you know...

OK, just to be sure, your setup is: computer -> router -> modem, where -> is some sort of cable.

Also be sure when you put the IP address in the bar that NOTHING ELSE is in the line. It's very very picky about this, so just wanna be sure.

What kind of router is it that your using? This will help me track down the problem.

Also, we can move this to PMs if you want. :)

A few questions: is your computer using the wireless part of the router, or is it connected via ethernet cable? Are you sure wireless is setup? Are you using WEP?

In general, to make your DS connect, you must know ur SSID (unless you scan for it) and WEP (if enabled). To check this, type 192.168.1.1 (for Linksys) or 192.168.2.1 (for ******) into the browser window. Linksys will ask for a user name and password which by default is "admin" and "admin". ****** will ask when you start clicking on things, but click submit. The wireless settings will be in there.

It was never confirmed (and actually thoroughly denied) that FF7 was going to be made for PS3. The tech demo was just to show what a future Final Fantasy game could look like on the hardware, and I guess they picked to use FF7 for the tech demo because it is a favorite amongst many and screens of Advent Children were out.

As for being banned in the US... Why would it be? The game came out 12 years ago, so it just isn't on shelves. It was never banned as far as I know.

Umm...Do you know a place where I can buy the network adapter? I can't find one anywhere.Rayk3400

The only places I can think of is either Amazon or eBay, since the PS2 Slim doesn't need the adaptor and stores probably won't carry the adapter because of that.

You can edit your post at anytime using the dropdown menu in the bottom right of your post... :)

But as for your question, no it does not. You will need to get that separately and I think it's needed for the HDD to even work since the IDE connections appear to be on the adapter.

WEP is only needed if the router was setup with it. It's a security feature. If it was not setup on your router, you don't need it at all. I believe there is a way to specify no WEP for the game.
