Could you explain to me how a carpet generates heat? Is it a heated carpet?[QUOTE="axel2374"][QUOTE="Digital_DJ_00"]Maybe if morons would stop setting their 360's on carpets because carpets help generate heat....duh... Not to mention he left it out on the floor for everyone to step on it... That 360 owner got what was coming to him...DataDream
Carpet DOESN'T "generate" heat...
But it is an electrical insulator. What that means is that it will #1) cause the system to overheat because even though the carpet doesn't generate heat it holds the heat generated by the console in and close to the console raising the internal temperature of the system- instead of letting it disipate as it should. Usually this is what people mean when they say something "generates" heat. And the big one...
#2) Carpet conducts static electricity which will kill any electronic device quicker than a sledgehammer (ok - maybe not quite, but pretty close). You ever notice that when you drag your feet on the carpet with socks on and then touch something (or someone) that isn't properly grounded that you shock them with electricity? Well electronics don't like to get "shocked" - I'll just leave it at that.
In one of my previous posts I said this jokingly - now after reading this post - I'm being serious...
KIDS NEED TO PLAY WITH MODEL ELECTRIC TRAINS ON THE CARPET LIKE IN THE OLDEN DAYS AND SEE THE RESULT OF ELECTRICITY AND ELECTRICAL TOYS!!! ;)
Thanks for the brilliance of that post Mr. Wizard. My post was SARCASM, so after reading this post I guess I will have to maker sure I type in SARCASM after for the geniuses who like to seem brilliant. Now I think I will go put my 360 on the carpet, run an electric train around it and scoot around on the floor, SARCASM.Maybe if morons would stop setting their 360's on carpets because carpets help generate heat....duh... These tiny spider-lick creatures keep walking all over it, but only the 360. I'm pretty sure they have made a home of my 360. Any advice on what to do, since spraying the insides wouldn't be the best of ideas, right?Brutal_ElitegsDid you give your 360 crabs? Just remember, the console is only meant for gaming.
And I bet your friend has a copy of Halo 3 too. Can I just call BS on your story, Fancy Pants Mcghee.Waste of time
Just complain to Microsoft Support
My friend lied and said he sent in an Xbox 360 and it never returned, and he said that he wanted an elite in exchange or he would sue the One guy on the phone...
Got himself a new elite, and its next to his prem.
