Disappointing to hear about the misogyny...I suppose i'll have to judge that for myself, but I believe the review. I guess it speaks to rockstar's level of quality that I hold them at a higher standard than many other developers. I always have extremely high hopes for rockstar stories. That open world though, it looks incredible!! This is a day 1 purchase, absolutely zero question.

I don't see a problem with having male characters in a piece of art that someone wrote. If you are a writer, you write what you're familiar with, with what you know, you write to the best of your ability. If you're familiar with the pressures of being a man in capitalist america and that's the story you want to tell, all the power to you. I bet the GTA story will be amazing. If you're a man who wants to write a story with a female protagonist, go for it! As George RR Martin obviously stated, "I've always considered women to be people...There's a basis of common humanity to draw from." Female characters, male characters, it's all fine with me. I'm excited to play Beyond: Two Souls, and Metal Gear Solid too. The gender of a protagonist takes backseat to a well-written story, in my opinion.
