@Pedro: Agreed, not sure why anyone would be a fan of either console. Both are proprietary garbage ecosystems designed to lock you in and take as much of your cash as possible.

And yes, I'm a PC user (not really elitist) who is not necessarily "butthurt", but shall we say...... "irritated" that I would have to buy a PS4 if I want to play Bloodborne or FFXV. I flat out refuse to buy a console just for 2 freaking games.

Closed ecosystems are never good for any industry. Ask any IT manager how much of a fan they are of Oracle lol.

I wish consoles would just die period, and all future gaming development continued on the PC.

No more exclusives.

No more wasted time optimizing for all of these different architectures.

No more paying a yearly fee just for the "privilege" of playing games over the internet. (seriously wtf?)

More time could be spent creating engines that simply scale well on a wide range of hardware, as the base architecture is all the same. Suddenly a $400 PC really could deliver better graphics than anything the current gen consoles can offer.

A great example of this is the Fox Engine used in MGSV. Looks amazing on a high end PC, but still runs on a potato. Did an excellent job creating a good looking open world for MGSV, but also an INCREDIBLY detailed "on rails" experience, with the demo for Silent Hills.

Steam big picture is already close to delivering the "console" experience of sitting on the couch with a controller in your hands, but imagine how much faster it would improve if EVERYONE was using it?
