not be as successful as the 360. The 360 has basically capitalized on Sony's overconfidence of releasing a 600 dollar console. PS3 will surpass 360 and enjoy more success than the 360. Both consoles can be considered a success, however, Sony allowed too much of the market to be taken from them by alienating much of their fanbase. PS gamers benefit most from this because Sony upped their game with online, exclusives, price, etc. Playstation has much more brand recognition and will easily crush Microsofts offerings next gen. PS brand has many more franchises and studios to play around with. Microsoft has basically gotten by with their "get the multiplat here for cheaper" strategy. This won't work next gen as Sony won't let that happen anymore, that can be guarenteed. I expect the new consoles to launch around 2012, priced around 400 dollars each. In the end, gamers are the winners from such competition.
