[QUOTE="Wii_Fitness"][QUOTE="SoraX64"]All of this coming from a guy named Wii Fitness....come on guys...SoraX64

I love wii fit its a great game. The board is built well and the game is not only fun but good for you. I have np with casual games like Wii Fit but when games like Wii Music come along that are complete jokes than i question what nintendo is doing

hahahahaha you hypocrite you Wii Music IS a casual game LIKE Wii Fit

Wii Fit is a GAME THAT IS WELL MADE Wii Music is a joke that a baby can play by pressing random buttons, please tell me you know how to read because as i stated above i don't mind casual games as long as they have money and effort put into them not when they're rushed and look like crap such as Wii Music for example. I would think someone with Link in there picture would be more mature:( well than again link can't talk so mayb u shouldn't either:P

Nintendo HAS the industry's respect. It makes money. Thats all everyone else in the industry needs to know. They lost the respect of people who don't know what the new E3 is about, its had an increased importance on the business side. Microsoft said that they get FFXIII. Some people interpret that as betrayal, everyone else knows is SE showing that they aren't stupid and like money to be made off of their games. Sony showed that they actually have games coming down the pipe, again more games means higher profit expectations. Nintendo showed off Wii Music and Wii Sports Resort. With Wii Fit being sold out everywhere and Wii Sports being the highest selling Wii title period (its sold seperately in Japan, but there are what, 10 million copies packaged over here?) everyone but gamers know that Nintendo is going to make boatloads of money. Nintendo is not "abandoning" anyone, nor are they "heading down the wrong road". They are a company that makes games. They're a company thats over 100 years old, and they've spent almost of quarter of that making games that people like to play. I hate the casual vs hardcore argument. I see only fun and lack of fun. Nintendo has been at this for awhile, they know what it takes to keep people playing games. Why do you think there's only been one Smash per console? Compare that to a new Madden every year. Nintendo isn't dumb, they've sunk their teeth into a new audience, and much like a vampire, they plan on turning them. Look into the "bridge game" concept.

If you have the patience to, read that. Its an excellent article that basically explains that Nintendo knows what they're doing when it comes to the "casual gamer" fiasco that has swept gaming.

Also "embarassing E3 performance". Has everyone forgotten about Sony's "REAL TIME WEAPONS CHANGING", "ATTACK ITS WEAK POINT FOR MASSIVE DAMAGE", "RIIIIIIIIDGE RAAAAAACER!", and my personal favorite "GIANT ENEMY CRAB!" Hell, even MS lost alot of respect from my view with this new Avatar crap. Not only do they look ugly and are a Mii ripoff, they're nigh useless. The new dashboard looks so bland and unnecessarily changed.

This is the first time in over a decade that Nintendo has had a healthy and robust 3rd party line up, and you complain that they themselves are not doing enough. Nintendo has already shot off many of their big guns for the Wii already (SMG, SPM, LOZTP, MP3C, MKW, SSBB). You keep talking about "ignoring the core group" and "supporting the casuals" Nintendo is making just as many quality games as they have been for years. Were any of the complainers here awake during the Gamecube lineup? Well let me tell you, it didn't have anywhere near as many quality releases from 3rd parties. Nintendo is one company, and only a handful of development studios. Intelligent Systems is one of their key second party teams, and they've already released 3 games for the Wii in less than a single year. Nintendo had an amazing line-up last year and a fairly strong one this year.

Its really the complainers I feel bad for, welcome to the rest of the videogame industry, one company CAN'T do everything for a system. The GCN lineup was essentially what the Wii has now, a few 1st party releases every few months. But get this, that was all that was worth getting. That's why it failed. That's why the N64 failed. 3rd party support was why the SNES and NES flourished, and the Wii is finally looking like its going to do a great follow up. Don't get your panties in a bunch because you didn't know any better a few generations ago.

i understand nintendo want to give third parties a shot a yes there are a lot of third party games i'm looking forward to but THIS IS NINTENDO if they are going to put out casual games at least make them good. Honestly watching that E3 keynote was embarassing i kept on going back to it seeing if anything would change but it kept on getting worse as time went on. Wii Music is a joke, seriously it is a noice maker thats it, and you want Nintendo putting that out for casuals. When i see a game made from Nintendo on there own console that is basically a gamecube with better controls i expect some quality out of there titles being a Mario game or a simple game like Wii Music. If Nintendo keeps on going down this road sure they MIGHT be successful but what is true success without the industries respect.

see people this is wat i'm talking about Nintendo is going down a bad road and if we keep on buying games they rush or push out in order to make money they will fail in the end. Corvidae you are a genious no one could have put it in better words than that

but it's just hardcore games, theirs plenty of other games that a lot of people want coming this year.

first this year than next year:( pretty soon nintendo is going to go all casual and no one will buy there next system or games, really we don't even know how many games people are buying because with Wii Play considered a game the attach rate is high which is false. Wii is gonna be a third party system, which isn't a bad thing, but nintendo should wake up and see there embarassing themselves as a company. I can't believe i'm saying this but i miss the gamecube days:(

Thank you very much! I don't think I've ever been called a genius non-sarcastically.

Moving on, I think the best example of what I would like Nintendo to do with the Wii is the DS. They have a lot of casual titles AND a butt load core games. There's really something for everyone on that little system. The Wii has taken what the DS started and gone farther with it. More and more casual games. Nintendo is only one company, so the more casual games they put out, the less time and resources there are for the core titles.

Now, the casual games are what brought Nintendo from a last place company to the dominating monster they are now. But the core titles are what kept them alive all of these years in the first place.

Nintendo is letting cash effect their thinking too much, which may actually hurt their sales in the long run. Casual gamers are casual gamers because they don't play as many games as the more hardcore. Therefor, they don't buy as much.

Will mom buy Wii Fit 2? Probably not. Will most of us by Pikmin 3 or Super Mario Galaxy 2? Oh yeah! And then some...

you hit the nail on the head

I love that Nintendo is in first and i want them to stay in first but in order to keep them from making a possible risky decisions( like making only casual games) we have to show them, as the people who buy most of the games released, that casual is all well and good but to brag about games like Wii Music and Animal Crossing as million sellers is just wrong. I know most of you want to defend nintendo because they've been with you for so long but you have to give some tough love, in the long run they'll see that although casuals are buying the system its the core gamers that buy the software.

[QUOTE="Wii_Fitness"]wow i made this topic last night for kicks and everyones posting i love it, anyway some people are nameing THIRD PARTY GAMES. I'm not saying the wii doesn't have good games, De Blob and The Conduit look amazing not to mention Deadly Creatures which I'm confused on why it isn't getting that much hype:? , just there first party line up sucks. Wii Music is a joke, Animal Crossing is boring and looks rushed, Mario Sluggers and Wario Shake It! look like fun games but I think they're crazy charging full price for either of them ( is Wario a retail game btw i'm not sure). I'm saying out of those 4 games that NINTENDO is bringing us its not a very strong line up especially with some AAA titles coming out on other platforms. People don't think I hate the Wii cause i love it, i still can't find wii fit btw lol, and i will continue to buy games for it just not NINTENDO games. Third party games along with some other titles for my ps3 are gonna be the only games I get for the remainder of the yearSuperSmashBro1

You clearly never played the first 2 AC then, because that was one of the best parts of Nintendo E308,and your topic fails.

FAILURE!

lmao i have played animal crossing on gamecube, rented it and i didn't like it, and i got the ds version bundled in my ds lite. No doubt there fun games i can see why people love them but for Nintendo to say o our hardcore game is Animal Crossing thats pretty pathetic. To say that animal crossing is the best part of E3 is kinda bad don't you think. I remember the days where even if Microsoft had tons of solid titles all Nintendo had to do was say the word Zelda and they would win E3. Two bad E3 keynotes in a row is simply not good enough. Nintendo has to step it up or else this will happen

Keynote 2009

[QUOTE="Wii_Fitness"]Nintendo's line up for this year is crap, not talking about third party games only first party, i mean if people have to say Animal Crossing is there heavy hitter thats pretty sad:(dotWithShoes

But people hype Little Big Planet.those are two completly different games:P r u on crack:P Little Big Planent has amazing visuals and is a platformer where u can make your own levels and share them with the world as well as take other peoples. Developers from other companies have stated it would be a interesting idea to make levels in LBP that involve some of there franchises. Animal Crossing is a a game that looks like its from N64 and is a complete sims rip off. O wait ur right i mean in Animal Crossing you can have fishing contests and yell into a mic thats 50 feet away tons of fun
