@Skrillbak Agreed, it doesn't put you in the shoes of the protester whose world is gone to shit and gets increasingly angry or gets beaten and even tortured by police. Nor does it put you in the shoes of the police officer who has been completely desensitized to violence and has given up all morals just to do a job.

Name one movement that reached its goals. because of a peaceful protest rather than the use of violent or nonviolent attacks/sabotage/boycots or the threat thereof. I'll spare you the effort: Not a single movement has accomplished its goals by peaceful protesting.
