@whiskeywhiskers: You're quoting a post from 2012 when their kickstarter was less than £10 million.... If people has so much money invested in the game, they are going to make full use of the resources available. By reading the article, I haven't read anything about hiring known actors etc for the squadron 42. I've written before, requirements and use case changes over time (this is pretty obvious during my experience as a developer) and knowing Chris Robert's reputation if you have played Wing Commander and Freelancer; it somewhat provides evidence of this may be a "promising" game.

Also how would you define "very poor progress on the game" ? Just out of curiosity have you ever worked in development before ? They've developed their own engine using CryEngine and also refactored their code to use the Direct X 12 API along with using VR API... Considering active development started in 2012-2013 -- when they had only 20 people in CIG, now they have almost 400 (including contractors and 4 studios); what they've accomplished is pretty good.

Following the game for 5 months is minuscule compared to gamers such as I who's backed the kickstarter in 2012...

Try following the newsletter and read their developers column, it's very interesting on the technologies they've used; how they've overcome problems etc and it shows their progress -- assuming you know anything about development of course.

FYI, this wasn't a rant or trying to offend you, I'm just trying to educate you on what their developers are trying to accomplish and it's not very easy; given the complexity of the project itself.

@whiskeywhiskers: Source on that quote ? Not to mention, people has been backing the game and they are receiving more funds; which means the project expands, more requirements and use cases are created. I'm not sure why this game is getting a lot of flame when there are games released annually and people complain about the quality of the game along with the lack of innovation. (charging full AAA price for a game that's released annually, when it could be a DLC).

@kheirank: "How many years has it been since this started and the game is no where near to being complete?" -- It's been just over 3 years and they aren't just developing the game; they are also developing the engine at the same time. Elite Dangerous (a game in the same genre as SC) has been on and off development since 2008; yet they have little to show for that period of time. You, who have no idea about the scale of development should refrain from giving their opinion.

@Mirimon78: Ah, you're still on your period I see. I'm retarded for not checking your sources where as you're on everyday, posting comments, arguing about trivial things; clearly there's no word to describe you then is it? :D You could have responded to my question with either a yes or a no instead of an essay (I honestly can't be arsed reading an article, sometimes I don't have the luxury -- which is something you have clearly; since you have nothing to do and al) .

You take this shit too seriously, I guess I am right, you do live a boring life otherwise you wouldn't be here creating worthless arguments and behaving as if you got a stick up your ass. It only took a simple action of having a glance at your profile -- you're constantly arguing with other people; created a profile YEARS after I have and having spending more time on the comment sections than any other people... And I'm batshit crazy, try having a life for a change..rofl!

@Mirimon78: Jesus mate, calm the **** down? I'm not arguing, maybe you're arguing with people because you think they are. Get out there and get some sun bro, yet you assume again "It seems you live purely on beleif, and know nothing of knowledge.".

And read this "I can't be bothered to check since I'm not the one debating which console is "powerful" than the other.". Reading comprehension mate, maybe if you were enjoying life you wouldn't be on the internet "arguing" over trivial stuff. Sucks to be you.

@Mirimon78: "That "benchmark" advertisement was paid for by msft, and already proven false by 3rd parties."

Was your link supposed to prove his source was paid by microsoft? I can't be bothered to check since I'm not the one debating which console is "powerful" than the other.
