Well I'm buying a PS3 especially to play MGS4 but I know there are other games I will enjoy and buy later on too. Ultimately you just have to look at the current PS3 line-up and see th games that interest you and look at what PS3 has to offer this year and then decide to buy a PS3 or not. MGS4 is definitely a good start for a PS3 purchase if you ask me.

wow :o I doubt any reviewer will have anything bad to say about MGS4 unless they start nit-picking.

Wow what the heck happened to the PS3 ? I thought the Japanese loved the PS brand. The PSP is doing great and so is Nintendo. I better not mention the 360. I wonder if MGS4 will help the PS3 in Japan, I mean it's not an RPG but surely it will help PS3 reach above 20,000 atleast.

Regardless you havn't played the previous MGS games I highly suggest you purchase MGS4 because the gamplay is the biggest departure in the series and will be really great to play. Storywise you will be entertained but you might not get some things due to not playing previous games. If you want you could pick up the MGS essentials collection which features both MGS1, 2 and 3.

Simply put, YES buy the game otherwise you will regret it when everyone is talking about it and you wont have a clue since you didn't play :)

I'm sorry but the difference in graphics is so minimal between multiplat titles that I reckon arguing about which is better is just plain silly, come on unless you stare at pictures and look at every detail I doubt anyone would notice much of a difference. Simply put that if a game is made on PS3 then ported to 360 the PS3 version will be slightly superior and vice-versa. Exclusive titles are the only way to see which console is better but even then saying which cosole has better looking exclusives is just opinion and not fact. The way I see it is that PS3 has MGS4 so PS3 wins by default :P

Wow this game can't come soon enough. Oh hi I'm new and thought this thread would be great for my 1st post since I'm a MASSIVE MGS fan and MGS4 is the reason I will be buying a PS3 next month, finally huh ? I thought I wouldn't end up getting a PS3 till the end of this year, I knew I would buy one but was waiting for the right time and game. I simply cannot pass out the oppertunity to play the latest MGS game and supposedly the final.

I have to say this thread is really great, good job TC I am really impressed with your knowledge of MGS4 and for making this thread. A little secret, I havn't seen any new info of MGS4 since the trailer shown at E3 06, I promised myself that I would not spoil the game for me when I play and the time is almost here.

thrones

Wow! Nice job keeping the spoilers away! :o

I haven't been able to. I swear I already know the ending and half the plot twists...

lol knowing Kojima I'm sure there is still quite alot we don't know, reemember MGS2 when we thought we would play with Snake all the way through only to wind up with Raiden early in the game.

I only have't seen any videos or pictures of MGS4 since E3 06 but I have read quite alot of previews and what not, just not spoilers though because this is apparantly the last MGS about Snake and I want to play the game like propery if I can say that :P

I bought this game on impulse because it looked original. When I played it I was highly impressed and all though it had a few screen tears and texture pops but overall the game looked phenomenal, I loved the art style and it was totally original. For a game where you just fight bosses it was one of the rare gems of last gen which I believe every self respecting gamer should try atleast once.
