I wish there were an edit function.  Now that I can see all the typos I have made.  Suture = future and sneese would have been sneeze if I caught it in time.  :)

There is an edit function. What a useless thread...

There is no edit function but I should have proof-read what I said.  It was not a useless thread.  I think it was rather legitimate.  I have no idea what is with youth today if that is what you are.  Hostile against anyone and everyone?  That is just the way the world is today?  Sure why not.  I am not surprised and it is not like I have not seen so before but really.  Good luck in life because you are going to need it.  Signing off!

Grow up.  I posted a legitimate question.  One that is too late to be solved since I am well into the recovery process.  The question I am still wondering is are there no safeguards in Windows to protect against such accidental mistakes? (which may or may not have been caused by some Irish Cream) [not to suggest that I am completely blameless] *the uncontrollable sneese and resulting software disaster are all true*

What I am most curious about at this moment is if their is a setting that I do not know about that would prevent such suture disasters.  Not that I really need such a precaution because I would like to see Windows catch me in such a vulnerable prediction again....though I must admiit this last one was rather clever and caught me completely off guard....but never again.  You have to wake up pretty early to .... well maybe not that early....but uh...what was I talking about again?

No one has time for your babbling, troll

Listen punk because I am only going to say this once.  I am probably old enough to be your father.  I have a pretty good sense of humor and get along with pretty much everyone.  I do not appreciate what you are saying.  People like you make me sick.  Grow up.

Why troll computer hardware discussion, most people are just trying to help others. Just go to SW

Who is trolling?  I have not been on here in a while..  I think some forums have been removed since then and I know there have been changes with the forums.  SW?  Meaning System Wars?  Why would I post this there?  Wasn't there a general softwate forums on here before?

loool tc thanks for the joke i enjoyed it, no one is silly enough to do all of the things you saidSPBoss

It is no joke.  I wish it was.  I was just talking to my brother about this explaing what happened.  Almost half way on my Skyrim download which has 2 hd texure pack files each 1.5Gb's I think?  Maybe it is 1.5 total (can't check since the files are well MISSINZG ATM).  Accidentally clicked on the CK instead of Steam and it wouldn't load up properly (obviously since it is missing who knows how much data) lol....this would be pssing me off if I wasn't laughing so hard.

How the hell did I manage that?  Didn't you read what I said?  I have no frickin idea.  I sneezed.  Looked at the screen and OH Oh this is not good.  Not good at all!  This is the first time I can remember seeing this happen.  Still looking at the 1 item downloading which is going to take forever and this is just the first game.

when u sneezed, you moved your mouse while clicking, basically dragging whatever you clicked on really quickly. So what happened was that a folder got moved. All you had to do was move it back. ctrl-z is like the undo button in windows.

I know all about ctrl-z, ctrl-c and ctrl-v, cut copy paste, ctrl-alt-delete and even alt-f4.  I have used ctrl-z as an undo many times but I don't think that would undo a file transfer in progress in Windows would it?  Would it be any different then clicking on cancel during a file transfer which you did not authorize (or authorize involuntarily)?

I did a sytem restore because I could no longer do a verify integrity of system game files for Steam for most games.  Everything was greyed out and most text and options were not there at all.  meaning I could not click on anything to do anything.  Systemn restore fixed that to some degree.  Now it is redownloading gigabytes of data.

You ever have a sudden sneeze that comes up on you so quick that you have no time at all to really prepare for it?  Somehow that is now causing me hours of redownloading and fixing stuff.  About 1/4 of the way on the first download....I could install all games and reinstall but that would probably take about the same amount of time....maybe longer.  This is unbelievable.  I didn't know it was that easy to accidentally to corrupt a sytem from a misclick.

Okay it sounds like you accidently moved a large folder. I've done this too while sneezing and dbl clicking, was pretty easy to fix.

Then you deleted a large game folder on purpose to check integrity (which makes no sense) and then may have ignored the prompt that said it was too big for your recycling bin?

halokillerz

Yeah but I delted what looked like a duplicate folder within a folder.  I do have some computer knowledge,  Obviously not as much as I thought since this thing caught me off guard,  I didn't memorize every skyrim folder but I am in that often enough that I thought this folder shouldn't be here and I knew 1 folder that should be was no longer there.  The folder I always click on when working on mods.....gone!  It was there a fraction of a second ago.  I didn't conforim any transfer of folders or files....but there they were....being moved....without my permission.
