Half Life 2 has a better campaign than Halo 2 but Halo 2 has way, way, waaay better gameplay. Not to mention the multiplayer. Combat Evolved campaign destroys Half Life 2's though.

Halo: Combat Evolved is the greatest console FPS ever. If it wasn't for Halo then there wouldn't be console FPS games. Take Killzone and Resistance out of there though. Resistance just tries to clone Halo and Killzone just sucks.

Sure, Uncharted 2 didn't have much competition in 2009, but give credit where credit is due. Bad story and characters? For real? You're definitely in the minority there. Uncharted 3 won't win hundreds of GOTY awards like 2 did, but I'm very confident it will do terrifically. I'm sure it'll be a toss up for us all between Uncharted 3, Skyrim, LA Noire and Arkham City.Not-A-Stalker

So tell me what was good about the story ?? As I said already it was generic, There was no character developemnt, The characters were generic, It was predictable, It didn't go into the characters with enough depth. Now that Mass Effect 3 is out of 2011 its pretty muchup toDeus Ex: Human Revolution and Elder Scrolls: Skyrim to share the awards.

I can't belive you put up games like Dark Souls but not Deus Ex !! lol. Anyway mine is a tie between Mass Effect 3 and Deus Ex. Both will easily crush the competition and claim all rewards

And as far as your opinion goes, that 2011 is a lackluster year for the 360, I disagree with you. If you only count exclusives, I know the only real prominent ones are Gears 3 and Forza 4, but why do people discredit all cross platform games? Practically 90% of the games are cross platform anyway. Look at some of the great games coming out this year. LA Noire, Batman Arkham City, Rage, Mass Effect 3, just to name a few. I know I'll be playing all of these on the 360 this year and I don't think I'll be disappointed.DJ_Magneto

Oh I know the Xbox is having a great year I meant Microsoft is having a lackluster 2011

If a PS3 exclusive beats a Deus Ex game to GOTY then I give up on critics althogether as it will just show how far gaming is going down the toilet

So Microsoft's press conference will take place in one month and three days from now. What are you guys hoping to see announced/unveiled. I'm hoping for a Codename Kingdoms gameplay reveal, Metal Gear Solid Rising stage demo and release date, Halo 4, Gears of War 3 and plenty of new IP. Microsoft really need to step there game up and announce a good lineup for 2012 after the lackluster 2011.

[QUOTE="Sledgehammer117"]

I cannot see one review that actually justify's its high score. No review ever brings up the lackluster story and characters either.

lowkey254

How about this, prove that the game isn't worth its score. Seriously, the content along with the story, the gameplay is there. Have you played this game? It really is like playing a movie. Now where are your points to disprove it's score?

SPOILERS OF UNCHARTED 2 AHEAD

The graphics were great but I don't play graphics. As long as they are not noticably bad I don't really care and neither should reviewers.

The level design is brilliant. I think that itwas easily the best level designof the year.

The gameplay was alright but generic. The gunplay was weak and unsatisfying when compared to other games.

The story was downright awfull. What the hell was Lasaravich's problem ?? Why did Flynn betray you ?? What sparked Lasaravich's intrest in Shangri-la ??Why was Chloe with you one minute and against you the next ?? All vital questions that the game left unawnsered. Even if them questions were awnsered it was still a generic revenge plot with a generic Russian enemy.

The characters were annoying and unlikeable. Drakes and Sully (Who had a dissapointing absence in this game) are the onlytolerable characters. Even saying that Drake is tolerable he is still unfunny and there are points were you would love to knock him out. The rest of the characters are very flat and generic. There is absolutely no character development in the game either.

Overall I would give the game a 9 but I wouldn't put it asnear Mass Effect, Deus Ex, Elder Scrolls. In fact I commited a crime by putting it in the same sentence as those games.
