When I speak of mature I mean a game that deals with mature concepts like Deus Ex or that new game Watch Dogs. Things like or even games that emphasise gameplay over 'swearing and sex' like Dark Souls.
Whilst there is probably a good point buried underneath this mass of whinging and moaning I feel this boils down to simple stereotypes. Even men are stereotyped in gaming a lot of the time and even hyper-sexualised. What this feminist misses is that females protagonists and even antagonists are on the rise in games, they play a more important role, especially in Western games. At the core of it I know the points that feminists make mean well but the way they go about it subjects them to this critisism. It's like the female officer at my University wanted to ban all grinding in clubs. Most of the time it's the women that engage in the act in the first place and if they don't like it they simply walk away.My point being neither of these things are the way modern women need to go about expressing a need for equality and recognition within today's society.
It's a tech demo people, not representative of the any game to come. As for everyone mentioning Final Fantasy 13 Versus, why do people treat it like a messiah of Final Fantasy series? I hate to say it but to me it now seems like vaporware, I would love to see it come but at this point I very much doubt it will. Even if it does come out however with the ridiculous hype it's generated people are again going to be disappointed. All because it won't match up to the god-like expectations that people place on the quality of a game after seeing a couple of trailers these days.
