They don't have superior technology. Tin foil can block out radio waves and mind control. I'm sure we have the means to fend off an alien invasion. If anything, we would be the ones enslaving them at the end of the day.

Nah, aliens aren't evil. Movies and other media may portray them as an evil, fully unified race, but they would have the same social issues we have. Like you said, they may be looking for food, but they are not looking for us to hand them their ass on a silver platter.

I think the reason Sony might be trying so hard is to impress the interstellar people. So that when they come, they won't be liquefied like the rest of us.
