It doesn't matter how long you have been playing. If you have not transcended graphics, then you are a graphics whore casual gamer that lacks a prefrontal cortex to judge games outside of the superficial primitive aspects. That is even worse for you considering your age. If you STILL have not transcended graphics at that age, then there is something wrong with the way your brain works, ESPECIALLY in this day and age where time after time, gameplay has proven to be more important than graphics. Earthbound (a game with below average graphics, yet awesome gameplay and envirments) will always be better than Crysis 3(a game with amazing visuals yet crap gameplay). You are not a gamer if you believe that graphics matter. Casual gamer confirmed LOL.

All you graphics whores saying "GRAPHICS ARE EXTREMELY IMPORTANT" are obviously the new wave of crappy mainstream casual gamers. I grew up playing Atari,NES, SNES. Some of the games are those consoles are better than most of the crap out today. You kids just have short attention spans similar to a fish and lose interest within seconds if there are not pretty graphics to look at or any other smokes and mirrors effects that easily impress you gullible mouth breathers. Judging things at the most basic primitive level. REAL gamers transcended graphics, Unfortunately, like all other areas in life, there will be a large portion of posers and casuals. Look at them right now. They probably don't even understand anything i just typed because they lack a prefrontal cortex. Ah, either way, doesn't bother me because I'm enjoying me some games that have better gameplay than what kids these days play. I have the last laugh and it' their loss LOL.

Disappointing. It looks like all it does is throw all the characters from the old RE games into this new one in order to make it feel like it is trying to appease the fans of the old ones. As a old school fan, I am not buying it. If they want to impress me, they got to return to the challenging survival horror gameplay of the 1st 3 games in the series (as well as RECV and RE0). I want the controls and gameplay that scared the casuals away.

I caved in and gave my copy to a girl at work because she kept asking me for a whole week if she could have it .. Now I am regreting that choice very very much.

Alan Wake is a joke. SH destroys it all over. There is like what, only 2 enemy types in the entire game, the human taken and poltergeists. What a joke. SH is scarier, more challenging, more disturbing, better atmosphere and it has ALOT of enemy variety. Anyone who disagrees is NOT a gamer.

The new style in RE4 was an important evolutionary step to the aging mechanics of the older games. But when I hear people whine about how much they hate the changes, I can't help but notice that the gameplay isn't THAT much different; the controls are pretty much identical, it just moved to 3rd-person over-the-shoulder instead of stagnant prerendered environments.UT_Wrestler

The word "improved" isn't the right word to describe the new formula's effect on RE games because the new style *we can say style in gamespot! xD yay!* is different from the old. When both styles are similar, it's here when you can say the new formula improved the quality of games. RE were succefful from the beginning and not because of RE4.
