Yeah this is an absolutely DISGUSTING insult of a proposal that does absolutely NOTHING. They literally did the exact minimum they could try to squeeze by with doing and still keep their billions in illegal gambling and extortive practices money. I have no real faith in the FTC but I hope they just straight ban any and all loot boxes and microtransactions from any and all games, the entire game industry can rot in hell for their greed.
This is just the anti-jail break fix they've been looking to make for over a year now. The current console can be jail broken and there is literally no way Nintendo can fix it, since its a built in feature of the internal hardware they used. The only way to fix the jailbreak is to release a new version with a reworked chip that doesn't allow for it.
This is 100% plain and simple testing the waters for the Nextbox, whatever it will be called. Already been many rumors that it will be discless or full on streaming only. This is MS testing that, with a low cost alternative for them before their next gen console goes into full-on production without a drive. If this does well, they'll go ahead with it, if it doesn't go well, they'll reverse corse without any major monetary loss and add in a disc drive to the design. But if this does well, I guarentee their next gen console will not have a disc drive.
There are a few things they need to introduce from GTAOnline that it is amazing weren't automatically put in from the start:
-Passive mode -Private matches and options to queue into a game with no posses allowed in free roam if you yourself aren't running with a posse at the moment. -Bounties for player killing in free roam. You kill another player, everyone in the session is notified you have a bounty on your head -I also haven't seen the law show up at all in free roam. A posse was killing every player/npc in Valentine for 10 minutes straight and no law reaction. That's so dumb, the law should've been there after 2-3 people being shot.
