guild wars isnt a true MMO (it uses instancing) it also has those content updates that it makes you pay for.

cobrax25

Point one is correct, but if it plays mostly like an MMO and feels like an MMO I'm going to consider it one. Also those "content updates" are optional additional standalones/expansion packs and you still get free content updates on the older games..and even if you didn't the "content updates" cost less than WoW does for four months and they've generally come out around once every year.

Notice how the TC is talking up graphics, but isn't saying a lick about gameplay. :|

Sony viral marketer confirmed. :|

Frankly we should be more concerned about Microsoft viral marketers..they are better at it. Heck, they invented the concept of astroturfing.

[QUOTE="PannicAtack"]

I get tired of explaining this. The monthly charges for MMORPGs like WoW are because they have to maintain the servers.

Unforgiven2870

Yet guild wars is free to play :lol:

Because they have a regular release schedule and price the game higher than WoW does to make back their money...ArenaNet is pretty awesome and I really do like Guild Wars but its instanced in part to keep costs down and it wouldn't be a sustainable business model without lots of sales anyways.

Seems like they cleaned up the race lines and improved the trees a lot as well..nice job Polyphony, just keeps improving. Now they just need to do something about the grass and get damage into the game and it should REALLY shutup the fanboys.

[QUOTE="KillaHalo2o9"]Europe is owned by Sony dam Japaneses taking over the whole world :? Poor Europeans.jonesy1911
Which country out of america and japan are ahead technology wise......... yeah thats right japan are..... not america, they can have their RROD i sold my 360 when it died and never looked back.....

America is actually, even if it doesn't seem it sometimes. We have the major CPU manufacturers (all of them), we either have or have purchased all the major GPU manufacturers, we have the world's fastest super computer, production car, and the fastest internet connection (Internet2 is insane).

Cellphone technology may be behind and the average internet connection may be slower (although I would argue geography plays big a part there) but overall we still are mostly ahead.

[QUOTE="-Serpahim-"]Dedicated Servers for a start.... Mystery_Writer

XBL also has dedicated servers.

Maybe a handful of games (MAYBE) but XBL is mainly a P2P service. The only thing that costs most people utilizing it any real sum of money is the downloadable content and a lot of that is paid.

WoW has much higher maintenance and operational costs and its updated very frequently, so even if I don't care for the monthly payments (and thus don't play it) I understand how they are more justified than XBL.

Europe is PC land I thought. Especially central Europe.DaysAirlines

I was more under the impression of northern Europe rather than central..but Sony has a strong presence in Southern and Northwestern European countries..

BTW, have you guys all heard how Sony is invading Poland?
