The thing is for XB360 the GHWT drums work with RB1 For PS3 GHWT drums DON'T work with RB1. They released a patch to let the GHWT drums work with RB2 on PS3 and said "just import your RB1 tracks into RB2" They haven't released RB2 in Australia yet!!!!! If you import RB2 from the US you can't import your RB1 disc that you bought in Australia cause it's region specific... It's either 1 big monumental f#ck up by someone or they are giving PS3 users the big finger and saying "you should have just imported RB1 and RB2 in the first place and oyu wouldn't have any problems" or "If you had an XBox you wouldn't have a problem" The fact that the drums work for RB1 on Xbox and RB2 on PS3 (and Xbox) suggests there would be no technical reason they couldn't work on RB1 for the PS3... HMX just choose not to bother releasing a patch for whatever reason

Looks like us PS3 users won't be able to use GHWT drums with Rock Band after all....

http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=101911&page=16

well at least not until they decide to release RB2 outside of the US... in another years time if RB1 was anything to go by....

I'm pretty sure my memory stick is a fake as it says "Unsupported" when I go into the Informatin of the memory stick...

What are the implications of this? (apart from the possible reduced capacity - I'll try and load as much data as possible onto it this weekend...)

ie. Will certain games or functions not work? What is Magic Gate and what does it do?

I've only played GH3 as Rock Band isn't out here in Oz yet, but from what I've heard the level of difficulty in Rock Band is a lot lower than GH3.

So if you are after single player guitar, GH3 may give you more mileage and be more challenging.

On the other hand everyone seems to agree that Rock Band is more fun - especially with more people.

I think if you haven't played either much Rockband would be OK, but if you ahd mastered Expert on GH then Rock Band might not seem a bit too easy (but then you can learn drums instead:) )

Now they've changed it so it's exclusive to Japan.

https://account.konamistyle.jp/mgo_beta/

" We regret to inform you that the "METAL GEAR ONLINE PREMIERE β TEST" is exclusive to the Japanese market.
You will not be able to take part even if you have obtained a product code or KONAMI ID."

What a waste of time and bandwidth downlaoding the install and then the friggin update and trying to register a now useless Konami ID

Think I might wait a bit once MGS4 comes out in case they release an amended disc if this is any indication of things...

I know this is a "beta" but but the issues they've been having seem to be ones that could have been pretty easily avoided with some basic testing and planning on Konami's part...

It seems pretty half assed on their part so far.

Seems like they've been playing it in house and just decided to let it loose on the public without any thought to the process or the supporting infrastructure

just damn

aza619

Yep I get to the same stage and looks like the same error (can't read it)

After all the problems gettin ghte Konami ID registered this is becoming a joke and a waste of time

I thought it might be a useable beta...

Might be better off just waiting til someone with more time on their hands than they know what to do can help Konami set up tha useable game service and just play it once it is out of "beta"

It's not really a "demo".

It's just not the full game that will be released probably next year.

It also only costs about half of what most new games cost and is better than a lot of "complete" games.

The graphics are indeed awesome. I suck at GT5, but I still put it on when people come around and they are wow'd by the graphics. They start to understand why the PS3 hardware might cost more than other consoles.

Also they are releasing updates (eg. damage to cars) in the future and the way I understand, by the time the full game is released GT5 Prologue will be at a stage they are happy with the game and the full game will play and look pretty much the same, but with more tracks, cars, modes

In a way, prologue is a way for them to develop and test teh game almost like an advanced beta (eg. apparently online play needs some improvement)

It's available in the PS store in Australia now.

Only took about 10 or 15 mins to download the install.

Installed OK, but when I try to do the update it comes back with a server error whether I choose P2P or HTTP.

Maybe the install comes from PSN Aus and the update comes from the MGO servers?
Maybe the update servers are too busy still?

anyway watched the trailer and it looks cool.

Will try the update tomorrow morning or over the weekend...
