Yes. Definately would buy a new 2K football game.

The only thing thats more troubling than the poor attempts by EA to properly simulate the sport, is that 2K refuses to put an alternative.

I could care less if the game NFL teams or not, just give me a football game that properly simulates the sport. APF2K8 was a great game imo, it had

flaws but the gameplay to its core was football at its finest. To this day NFL 2k5 and APF2K8 are unparalled in the manner in which they simulated football.

I'm kinda surprised by the fact that this topic doesn't have 50 pages of comments. The operationsports message boards (which were filled with Madden diehards)

are now filled with people who want 2K Sports to create another football game, even if only to force EA Sports to improve the poor quality of Madden.

The lack of competition has the state of football gaming in a free fall. Recent Madden titles have been uninspiring, void of creativity, and based largly on

marketing driven development cycles. EA Sports has angered its own fanbase by forcing them to suffer through iterations of the Madden series most people

would classify as roster updates with shinner graphics and few bells and whisltes.

At least once a month I'll take a moment to search the web for news of a new 2K Sports football title, and for years I've heard nothing. Football gaming is pretty much dead to me right now. Not buying NCAA 13...and I'm too tired of the frustrating gameplay in Madden to get excited about anything EA says prior to release, so I certainly wont be buying it within the next three months. I'd like 2K Sports to at least address the issue, the silence is just as annoying as the BS I have to deal with in Maddens gameplay. At least make a public statement...

spend less time nitpicking at the flaws and just enjoy the game, or play another game. I have noticed some areas that Madden 08 could improve. but overall i think its one of the best in the series, with a much more real feel to it.Chuman231

If thats have you feel than you can do that. Thats your right, as a paying consumer if you choose to accept the status quo than please by all means go right ahead. As for myself, I will do no such thing. If EA thinks it matters enough to spend hundreds of millions to buy out competition, and secure licenses to effectively corner this aspect of the gaming market...than as a paying consumer who loves the sport & the game I choose to try to creating a positive change for the game I love. And I pay through the nose for my right to do so.

Get rid of create-a-fan and the rings but superstar mode is greatjjdbadboy

I hear you, superstar mode can be fun, but they need to adjust it or something because I spend more time practicing or simulating through the week to get to gameday...it just gets really old really fast. The way its set up now...its like pulling teeth.

That is a great point, the draft logic is way off, also you are dead right on the scouting reports. A player will sound like a complete stud and his ratings will stink.

The game should look, sound, and feel like an NFL telecast. That should be the standard. In-Game presentation, color commentary, tailgating outside the stadiums, full scale 3D interactive sidelines, asst coaches working with their position players after they come off the field, offensive & defensive signals being sent in from the sidelines...etc...etc...

Madden does not currently look or feel like a NFL sim, it looks & feels like a NFL arcade game with a lot of bells and whistels but not much (if any) substance.

Ideas For Improvement:

1. Correct uniforms, team logos & logo sizes, and team colors- How great would it be to see all the teams look the way they really do in real life? I see people saying this EVERY YEAR. Example...the Cowboys helmet is NOT grey, it's silver etc...etc The logos on the helmets in Madden '08 actually stretch like rubber bands and distort as the players move.

2. Bring back the accelerated clock- Every time a great feature is added to Madden it's a lock to be removed in a year.

3. Fatigue System- No player should be fatigued to a red level after one play. This system is a brillant idea in theory but the way it has been applied is a joke. Some guys never get tired in Madden '08, while others seem to be gased after the opening kickoff.

4. Addition By Subtration- Please, please, pretty please get rid of creat-a-fan, superstar mode, ring of a champion, and all of those rediculously meaningless trophy awards. That junk takes up space that can be used to improve gameplay, and presentation.

5. Face scan- We should be able to use our Xbox cam to scan our face onto our created player. I can do this in Tiger Woods Golf, Rainbow Six, & other games. Why not Madden?

6. Towels/Equipement- More options, and please allow the players to have towels.

More Ideas To Come...

Bugs, Fixes, Additions, & Ideas for Impovement.

BUGS:

1. Coin Toss- At coin toss moving down then up with the left thump stick always results in winning the toss, not a big deal until you get glitched by money plays, and nanos. A truely random coin toss is meaningful.

2. Gang Tackling- The branching tackling system is a two man canned animation that is limited and slightly better then what we had before. Additional defenders still do not affect the ball carrier or the initial defender/s attempting to tackle the ball carrier.

3. Kickoffs- Kickers kick the football out the back of the endzone on kickoffs, sometimes the ball will go through the uprights.

4. Nanos- Blitz's, batted balls, Ints, & cpu play kill this game. Defenders with super human ability fly, skate, jump, slide, and dive in a micro fraction a second to make huge plays that would make the man-of-steel ashamed.

5. Playaction- It takes too long to execute, the QB should not get sacked while attempting to fake a handoff on a regular basis.

6. Lead Blocking- FB's run right pass the defender they should block with consistancy and pride, allowing him to pummel the RB.

7. First Down! A two yard run on 1st down should not result in 2nd & 7.

Fixes:

1. Passing- The flight path & trigetory of the football is too low/flat, it makes throwing the ball maddening. Throwing a pass to a uncovered WR running free in the middle of the defense should not result in an Int, or a PBU (pass broken up). Also, the velocity of the throw is a non-factor. QB's should be able to place footballs inside the windows or holes in the defense. This really needs to be fixed.

2. Suction Blocking- It is impossible to disengage an offensive linemen, why?

3. Drops- QB's with high ratings are far too difficult to intercept, the DB just drops the clear Int. also, WR's drop far too many passes. This destroys the continuity of the game.

4. Cut Blocking- It is good to have it in the game, but when three to four defenders are on the ground every play it drives me crazy. Plus, it takes players who fall down too long to get up.

5. Special Teams- kickoff coverage, blocking, and punt coverage and blocking need attention.

6. Fumbles/Ints- Well, this has been mentioned enough.

Additions:

1. Field Goal Net- This is next-gen, come on!

2. QB, Center Exchange- i have never seen one mistake between the QB and center.

3. High Snap- From shotgun formations it would be realistic if from time to time the snap went over the QBs head.

4. First Down Markers- That yellow line is cool, but can we get a red marker?

5. Real Chain gang- That cut scene to the scoreboard is silly. I want to have them measure it before I go for it on 4th down.

More ideas to come...
