I love this game. I don't understand why people hate it so much.

Lock on: bmaisey has a good point about fighting two wyverns at the same time. This game is hard because you have to keep your eye on the prize, and not get eaten. I can run circles around a rathalos easily while keeping the camera fixed on it. All you have to do if free up a finger on the left handto manipulate the d pad while you move around with the thumb. Its a little akward at first but the payoffs out way detractors.

And have any of you played the first MHF or even MH (PS2)? That camera is a thousand times worse since it can pass through the walls giving you a face full of background. Next thing you know your on your face because you got hit with an easily dodgeable attack that you couldn't see coming.

I admit it has a few problems. The crafting system is not one of them. Just because you dont want to spend the time to get mats, doesnt mean the system sucks. It means your lazy. And I have never needed to craft one of everything in the craft list thanks to the complete online lists. Why bother making stuff your not going to need.

As for storyline, there is one, it might not be good, but it is there. Your called to Pokke village in order to replace the resident hunter there, who had been wounded by the Tigrex. From there on its takes over as the quest to become the best dang monser hunter the world has ever known. I don't need a story that centers around how "awesome" master chief is.

Ya, the guildhall is for hunters that have cleared the elder's quests, as a guild one star equals an elderfour or five star quest. but the later ranks are really hard without a hunting party (e.g. Ashen Lao Shan, Fatalis)

The gathering quests will be safe though, except for a wyvern wandering around they are relatively tame. Just deliver a pawpass ticket when your done to keep stuff you find. This is a good way to stock up on stufflike honey andore early in the game.

Been waiting for this all summer.

I just hope that ramza gets some kickass skills in this one. I hated that every story character had special skills(darksword / staiss sword / crush punch) and ramza got nothin except ultima which you have to go out of your way to get anyway.

My opinion:

You can't play this game for a few hours and say i don't like it. Lets face it the beginning is boring. The game only truly gets good when you start fighting things considerably bigger than you are. No the Kut-ku doesn't count. You also have to find a weapon your comfortable with. I like big swords, so i use GS and LS. I use the bow when playing with friends some times just to mix it up.

Plain and simple this is a strategy game, and depending on how you play, will effect the strategy you have to develop. I don't believe you can do that in a few hours. I played MH on PS2 (offline only), got auroros ten in MHF1, and am in the middle of the 5 star in MHF2, and i still get my ass handed to me on occasion.

After giaprey, I used Hornet armour for the defense for a while then changed to ceanetaur when i could (you cant get the gloves until six star)

Shogun armour is good for bandmasters. with 4 pieces you get sharpness (sharpness decreases slower)and speed sharpening.

I used this to get my current Kushala armour. I recommend getting this stuff because the health regen +2 and terrainresistance (hi)really helps when fighting lunastra later. Its hard to get though, webbingis the rarest reward, i had to kill 13 to get the full set.

Plus you can easily upgrade it to about 50 def each which is stronger than crimson fatalis armour in MHF1. It can go higher, i just dont want to spend the hard armour spheres.

My advice get a devil slicer, both monsters are weak to thunder

I like 2. I am two levels away from beating hard mode and ive had the game for years. Thats what i like about it its freaking impossible on hard mode.

3 was ok, theexcessivegore and low difficulty level was dissappointing. But the carrion carcass was hilarious.do that challenge in the dark

Dirgeof Cerberuswasn't bad for what it was... but i dont concider it a first person shooter, since it by default is in third person. You have to switch into first person.

Timesplitters 2on the other hand is a great game. Great gameplay... excellent multi-player modes...scantily clad women...whats not to like.
