@joshrmeyer: my history is ps2,ps3,wiiu,ps4. Was planning to buy all 3 but I hardly use the ps4 so didn't bother with xb1.

When I saw pro I figured oh well I do have a 4k tv but it's not enough to make me upgrade since I hardly use it and hdr will come with an update.

Scorpio is something I'm interested in since i never got around to getting the xb1 and it'll play all games.

I'm really interested in the NX but if it's going to be like Wii u without much 3rd party support I might skip it

@joshrmeyer: they need to make it mandatory but as I was saying, a developer can do a whole lot more with Scorpio than one S so they may limit themselves which will kinda suck.

Same for PS if they do the same.

Really they should be marketing new consoles and say that the games are "forward compatible" with a disclaimer than some games may not perform as well on older consoles, leaving developers to decide.

@joshrmeyer: hear's what I'm expecting based on what we've heard so far.

Ps4,slim and pro will all run the same games until a new console comes out.

As for xbox, I expect past, current and future games to come out on xbox1,S and Scorpio until games are optimized for scorpio's power, eventually leaving older consoles behind, this is what I meant when I mentioned phones.

The gap between 1, S and scorpio is pretty large, yes games can be downscaled but graphics is not the only thing that will improve, a simple thing like more enemies on screen can cause unenjoyable lags that would be running fine on scorpio.

So Scorpio sounds like a new console with true backwards compatibility, no emulation or extra hardware simply because the format of the games are the same.

A new game that doesn't push as much as Scorpio can will run on the older ones as well.

@AyatollaofRnR: we share similar thoughts on the matter but everyone seems to disagree with me when I say this

@sladakrobot: a 4k ps4 console with more power to push the 4k. Scorpio so far is "the new xbox, with all the latest and greatest tech, most powerful console in the world!"

I'm not hating on either but it doesn't sound like ps4pro is intended to compete with the Scorpio as the next generation.

The pro is a console that would be picked up by the more hardcore gamers, casuals will be perfectly fine on a slim or regular.

Scorpio on the other hand is the next thing, something that everyone would want to upgrade to even if they own the Xbox one S

The more I try to picture it, the more the idea is growing on me.

Nintendo's handhelds sells really really really well so merging the 2 would actually join both markets which would lead to killer sales and less development and production than 2 separate devices.

My main concern is that...if it's remote play then you need Data when away, if it's not remote then that handheld has to have a lot of power to push console quality games...makes me think that the Wii u and nx games may not be far apart

@sladakrobot: I'd like to see if it is in fact an "Xbox one" (0.5) like the ps4pro is marketed as.

It seems silly to have sony make a reveal after MS where their console looks weaker and even sillier if they really left out the 4k blu Ray player since they've always included the newest disc formats.

So I'm expecting a "ps5" that competes with Scorpio with the expected sony upgrades.

@sladakrobot: have you wondered why it's still a "ps4" then?

From what I've been reading, MS future is like mobile phones, where all should technically run past and present games but eventually you'll want to upgrade.

I still have no clue about Sony's stand, only that this is an enhanced playstation 4 and nothing more.

It's these troll comments from Microsoft that has people thinking the ps4pro is to compete with Scorpio.

Comparing the 0.5 against the new thing is nonsense

So you guys clearly don't see that project Scorpio is being pushed as the future xbox and the ps4pro (notice the "ps4" in the name) is an enhanced ps4?

It's very obvious that it's still a ps4 and not the future.
