Blood, sweat and tears have always gone into making some of the most beautiful and artistic pieces of both modern and classic art. The same can be said for the music, games and film industries, but in this day an age a happy worker is a good worker. There should be no need to rush a game out, yet as soon as we here delays the gamers go mad and insist the developers are just goofing off. We, as desperate and impatient gamers, are as much to blame as the task masters themselves.

@Enexs Yeah you do. You have to have a proficient knowledge of games before you can rate, compare and critique them, unless you like your game reviewers to know sod all about gaming then well atleast you're on the right website. Like this, you also have to have a good knowledge of movies to critique them. Many fans of movies and critics (to be a movie critic you have to like movies, kinda in the job description, on page one of "how to be a critic of something"). If you like a movie, even as a critic, you watch it again and yes they may even know exactly whats going to happen next (lines and all) just because they like it. Would you say a music critic never learns the lines of a song or learns how to play them on an instrument, then they don't have their own band, which in turn you go and pay to watch? I think you're just blowing hot air.

Theres something about watching someone good at their craft. And thats why I pay to go to a football (soccer) game to watch my home team or why I go to comedy shows, to watch someone who is good at being funny be funny. Its also really good to watch your friends play games, even more so to be wowed by it. I'd watch people play competitive street fighter, counter strike or anything else if it promised to be a good match. It's all in good fun right?

I can see why they picked the Ultramarines to play as. As the spacemarines go, the Ultramarines are your standard all purpose behemoth of an army and probably the most relatable to our own worlds armies. But I still prefer the Dark Angels, their grim secrets and dogged resistance to retreat give them such an anti hero / honourable edge that I find awesome.

Unless they start creating 'Classic' lines for old great games, I have had no choice but to buy second hand. Amplitude, Rez, Zone of the Enders, Gitaroo Man, Shadow of the Colossus, Ico, Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge, Hogs of War, Worms World Party etc etc. Stop taking brilliant games out of print and maybe you wont have to start arseholing everyone who might not have the extra $20 to buy brand new.

My wife is a gamer, she enjoys playing games. Games you'd consider manly, MAG, Dragon Age: Origins, Fallout 3 etc etc. I don't see that theres any need to change anything we're doing currently. Really, gamer girls like games that gamer guys like, so whats the problem? If a girl isn't interested in playing games, making a game targeted solely at a female who doesn't like games to coax her into them means you're abandoning the other 60% of the market that enjoy games regulary and are of mixed gender. A truely good game doesn't require you to be a particular gender to enjoy it.

Finally a reasonable argument for Duke Nukem Forever. Well done Gamespot, you've almost redeemed yourself to me.

Dr Robotnik is of the great school of villiany that includes Dr Wily and other greats. The simple motivation to take over the World to rebuild it into their own paradise. But in a way that see's their own arrogance leave their best til last every time and it always bites them in the arse when Sonic or Megaman turns up and wrecks their crap only for them to fly off Team Rocket style to try next time. Brilliant. No complicated subplots, not one twist in the story. Simple.
