Why does Call of Duty require the internet to stream textures? Activision's answer is two-fold, in that it allows "the highest-quality visuals" while also "reducing the game's overall storage space on your hard drive".
@lundy86_4: The trailer didn't give any meaningful direction for what the game would be like but I look forward to seeing what they do this time around. Bioware hasn't released anything for a while.
@lundy86_4: I found the first one uninteresting. I tried playing it several times and each time I found something else to play.😂 To be fair I played it past the hype. 2 storyline was so dumb and Inquisition was fine.🤷🏽♂️
@Pedro: I was suggesting they come on as a support studio like Crystal Dynamics was brought in. This would buy them time to get back on their feet and get back to making their own games. Again, terrible management all around and a waste of talent.
Edit: Sadly, buggy games are the norm these days. They are in the same boat as other devs in that regard.
If they were going to be support that is fine. No real issue with that sentiment. I cannot comment on the management because I don't have information on that topic.
We have to remember that running a studio is not charity work. It cost money. If you had to foot the bill to keep the studio open while it is unable to deliver, you would not be as understanding. (A guess I am wagering)
Edit: Folks weren't forgiving with Redfall for its bugs so I can't say I agree with they are the same boat as other studios. Gamers and the media slaughtered their last two games.
The devs hated working on Redfall themselves. Terrible management by both Bethesda and MS. Arkane Austin worked on Dishonored and Prey. They had the pedigree for this type of game. Don't put them on shit projects they don't want to work on and then close them down when it fails.
And your solution for a studio you claim is terribly managed is to give them Perfect Dark. Did you forget that Prey was lambasted for being a buggy mess when it was released? That was their last major game before Redfall.
At the end of the day, a studio is responsible for the content they produce.
Surprisingly it looks great. Almost immersive sim like experience.
It makes you wonder why MS didn't put Arkane Austin on this project long ago instead of just shutting them down like a bunch of morons.
You mean giving the game to the makers of Redfall; a game hated by folks who have and haven't played it, would be brilliant move?🤔 A rather interesting perspective.
