Bioshock Infinite is to gaming what a blockbuster summer movie is to Science Fiction. It looks great and has top-notch production values, but it's dumbed down to a 10 year-old level and therefore won't be taken seriously by real fans of the genre.

They should have called it 'Bioshock: Following the Arrow'.  There's no map and no fast travel to visited areas, which makes the whole game feel like its on rails.  The fact that none of your choices have any impact on the plot doesn't help.

The vigors (magic) are well done, but the weapon system is idiotic.  You can only carry two weapons at once, and there is no centralized storage system (like Far Cry 3) so it might take 15 minutes of running around to switch weapons, which is annoying if you've spent precious loot upgrading the weapon you're looking for.

After spending time in the worlds of Skyrim and Far Cry 3, Bioshock just seems kinda lame after a few hours.  If you want to play a game with a strong narrative where your choices matter, try Witcher 2.  The best games, of any genre, are about exploring and learning something.  In Bioshock, you follow the arrow and watch the cutscenes (which you can't skip, even if you've already seen them!), picking up hundreds of bucks, bullets, and bottles between battles.  Lather, rinse, repeat.
