Just found a buried blueberry pie. Its description reads: A little dented and worn, this pre-owned pie is a good starter pastry.

Don't worry about the 8 hour complaints, seriously. Others must just be barreling through and not looking at ANYTHING, because I've already spent four hours in the game and I've only done two quests. I love this game. It has its flaws, and I haven't had a chance to see if the lack of punishment for dying is game-breaking (I haven't died yet, so I don't know) or not, but what I have seen is very, very, VERY good. Game of the Year good. I think it's going to come to this and probably LBP for me, and I don't expect it'll be an easy decision either way.

The lack of punishment is not game-breaking. I've completely changed my mind on this. Here are the reasos why.

One of my buddies on my friends list checked out my profile when we crossed paths in the game. He laughed at the amount of times I was "knocked out". The game keeps stats on everything and avoiding knock outs just makes your overall profile better. I'm actually finding myself getting ticked off when I've had the crap knocked out of me since.

You lose your combat bonuses when you get knocked out. The game rewards you for fighting better.

At the end of the day, you don't lose a lot when you get knocked out but the game does reward you for doing better. When I play through a 2nd time, I'll be making it a personal achievement (don't know if it's an official one) to make it through the entire game without losing a fight.

I also agree about the length. I don't know the exact time I've put into the game but I'd estimate at 5 to 6 hours. I haven't completed anything towards the main quest since I became an adult in the game. If I were to figure out what seperates Fable from the rest and puts it into elite territory, I'd say that it has the best random side stuff of any RPG or adventure game. I'm addicted to wreaking havok in towns, beating up a few guards, and then taking on community service.

I have to retract my previous statement. This game is definately a purchase. I've just been hooked into a bunch of irrelevant side stuff. The game feels like an adult Zelda with a bit more to do. It's also a lot more fun being evil. There's no way I'm going to beat this in 10 hours.

I have to say this game and most RPG's still don't cover crime in a good way. before I restarted I went on a massacre and killed about 27 people in a village, Men, women, guards, shop owners and all i had to do is either pay a fine (which was a lot of money) or do community service.

Community service is a quest that it seems you can do at your leisure. Guards stopped bothing me so then i started stealing things and breaking into houses...guards stopped me again so I just picked community service again and they were fine with me. I did this 4 or 5 more times. If anything, this game doens't really punish you for breaking the law.

The game doesn't really punish you for much of anything. Everything else about this game is very well done. It just defeats the purpose of leveling up when the default mode is God mode.

If not for God mode, the game would be one of the best of this gen. Any fan of adventure games should give it a shot but I believe it's more worthy of being a rental than purchase due to the ease and stated length. Reduces the need to go on side missions, level up, and buy stuff when your default character is invincible.

I also believe the game is short due to the ease. You can follow the trail and run through everything without much challenge. I feel like with some better difficulty balancing, the main quest would be taking me about three times as long to progress and there would be more reward in side quest leveling up and loot discovery. A patch to increase the difficulty and punish the gamer more for dying would make this game a lot more enjoyable for me.

After Fable 1, I just decided that I would in general ignore hype from developers when games are far away from release. What's really exciting about these previews is that we are getting the promises with the game pretty much done. Nice to see a reverse hype strategy by PM from what they did with Fable 1.

The games sounds a lot like the game we hoped for with the original.

Best feature from Fable 1 to Fable 2...we can now hop over fences. Good to see the processing power of next gen systems put to good use.

Trailers.

They don't mean much. It's still the same smoke and mirrors hype Sony has been doing at these press conferences this entire generation. They talk about games that can't be done on other systems...and then show non gameplay videos.

Killzone 2. Wasn't that sold as in game a few years ago? Where was the demo on stage.

Seems like MS's TGS show was twice as nice as their E3 show. Too bad nobody over there will care.

I've been hating on the game for a little while but I'm back on board. This looks more like what I was hoping Halo 2 to be...only with better visuals and even bigger environments. I still believe Halo 1 was one of the best games of all time while Halo 2 was one of the most over-hyped let-downs (when considering the single player) of all time. Halo 3 looks more like Halo 1...but with some next gen juice. I'm buying the hype again.

Halo 3 pushed the limelight away with an average demo. Coming from someone who still rates Halo:CE as one of my top 3 favorite games of all time, I'm not even sure Halo 3 registers amongst my top 5 most anticipated games coming out this year. The formula is played out and the actual execution of fun gameplay was done best in the first one. If they re-released Halo:CE with online multiplayer and updated graphics, I'd be more excited than I am for Halo 3.
