American consumer culture. People are no longer indentified by their own personality traits or character. It's about what car you drive, what brands of clothing you buy, whether you use a Mac or a PC, whether you game on Platform X over Platform Y. People always want to feel special about something, and the advertising wings of corporations have exploited that through the decades by pushing the idea that if you are loyal to a certain brand, it says something positive about your worth as a human being. It's exactly how brands that market **** non-utilitarian products manage to become the most successful, and frankly it fukin disgusts me. It is by far the biggest monkey wrench thrown into the American capitalistic system, where the products with the best advertising and marketing succeed over the ones that offer the best quality.

I don't know about you, but I remember back in the days before meaningless achievements, trophies and gamerscores, when people played video games for FUN, rather than some stupid carrot on a stick scheme employed by the game's developer. The stupid stuff like XP grinding in CoD pisses me off to no end. It's just an artificial way of giving your game longevity.

How can you compare the upkeep of an MMO to something as resource unintensive as matchmaking for peer to peer multiplayer? Microsoft could easily afford to give Xbox live out for FREE if they really wanted to, but the 50 dollars is just them exploiting their customers.

Best multiplayer game ever: Starcraft

Best singleplayer game ever: Uh, Deus ex or Yoshi's island (yeah, they're pretty dissimilar, I know).

Microsoft wants to nickel and dime you for everything you have. Valve sticks to the old developers' mantra of supporting their games post release for free in order to establish a good relationship with their customers.

The answer is the Donkey Kong series.

Heck actually I'm going to go one step farther and say all SNES games made by rare (and to an extent the n64 games too) had incredibly good music. Killer Instinct anyone?

The Wii is to the other consoles what consoles are to PC gaming back in its purest form. It's just a more casual and accessible version of what would be considered "hardcore" by Xbox and PS3 owners. It happens, it's where the money is, and that's where the industry will expand. Don't like it? Too bad. Shovelware requires very little effort to create yet sells tons, and the industry sees it as their easiest path to huge profits.

This game isn't even going to come out within the timeframe of this console generation. Sheesh. Why the hell would you even want to play this on a console anyways? the system specs are so low that ANYONE with even a half decent computer in 2010/2011 (when this game is released) should be able to run it. If you're running an ancient rig by then well then, a 250-350 dollar investment really doesn't seem that bad does it? You pay far, far more for consoles + extra controllers.

Well, there's probably going to be another Zelda game, likewise some sort of Starfox game. If Starfox's controls were polished enough and it had decent online multiplayer, I'd consider that a significant amount of gaming goodness. I personally can't wait for the return of Peppy telling me to do a barrel roll. It is however dissapointing how the Wii really has almost no good third party games. Then again, Nintendo's dev studios are so good that they can pretty much keep the Wii afloat just by themselves.

Seriously now, have you looked at Diablo 3's graphics? They look like God of War. This damn game can run on PS2 Technology if they needed it to. How much do you think you even need to pay for a computer that will run it? $250 maybe? By that time the Xbox720 will probably out anyways and you consolites would've paid far more for that. With how low Blizzard sets its hardware requirements there should NEVER be anyone complaining about the cost of entry for their games.
