No way is Will Smith able to play the straight man. The reason the original worked so well was while Steve Martin and John Candy where both comedians they played complete opposites. John Candy's character(Del Griffith) took center stage as the well meaning but bumbling fool. While Steve Martins character(Neal Page) was for the most part to the side reacting to the to Dels shenanigans.
Here you have to people with personalities that tend to mirror each other instead of contrast. So what you end up with is both your leads fighting for center stage. They should have cast one of them and then cast someone else to play the straight man.
Proof that people will play any kind of game as long as its fun. I really think we need to print out and staple these numbers to AAA publishers heads. If only to get some variety.
As impressive as such details is, it reminds me of the shrinking horse testicles in Red Dead Redemption 2. It's a impressive detail but not worth working your dev's to near death to achieve. I would rather have less dynamic glass breaking and have dev's that didn't have to work 60+ hours a week.
If they want to go the female Thor route that's fine. The comics may have bombed but maybe for the big screen adaptation they'll cut the politics and maybe give us a decent super hero movie. Probably not but I would have still checked it out. However the fact that they cast Natalie Portman immediately makes it a hard pass for me. She is a horrible actor. Her performance in the first Thor movie was so stilted and bland it actively hurt the whole movie.
Honestly not a fan of either the game or the actress. However I have seen Captain Marvel so I can only assume her performance here is just as stilted and lifeless.
Someone who died 83 years ago had archaic and mess up world views? I'm shocked. Seriously it was a different time. Does that make it okay? No. Not by today's standards. But should we just pretend like it didn't happen? No. Books, movies, music, games, TV shows, ect ect are snapshots of the erra they were made in.
The connection to the actual DLC his so flimsy it borders on nonsensical. What did Buzzfeed not cut you a big enough check? It doesn't dismiss the problem because it wasn't a problem for a lot of people at the time they where written.
Look I personally find Lovecraft's views to be appalling. However I can still enjoy his work knowing that id was a different time and I don't share his views.
