super excited but a few questions re the gameplay - i really hope u can move and shoot (he doesnt do it in this demo but it is what marines get vs genestealers getting a free turn per move) and spend command points before using a model's turn (i.e move a guy for one point so hes not in the way, then move someone else, then use the first guy's native action points - this is again in the rules and allows for a greater control of ur squad and fixing mistakes)

anyway i will buy this day 1 most likely - so will my flat mate - so theres two for u devs (please make us proud...)

yay space hulk!

I'm really glad that I looked up the original review. 9.2 is an appropriate score for the original game. Having re-read the review, the reviewer seems to be focusing on the 'enhancements', such as they are. I have pulled out my original 6 disc cardboard envelope (LOL) and reinstalled with only a few dramas (even on windows 7 - colour me impressed).

This game is a masterpiece which took me years to finish originally (being 12 when I first got it) and is one of the most immersive and impressive games ever created (surpassed by BG2 for sure, but only because of the tech upgrades between the two releases).

If we take the reviewer's words to heart and look at the cost to get (almost) the exact same game with fewer bugs for half the price (or free in my case - yay) then the 6.0 is probably accurate. All I could wish for is that the reviewer had linked to the original review and noted that, as a game, it is phenomenal, but as a enhanced ed it is lackluster compared to the cheaper alternative.

Some people have mentioned legalities as far as the reason for the enhancements being pretty bland but frankly that isn't an excuse. Either enhance the experience or just call it Baldur's Gate. That simple.

I hope that the community's enthusiasm over any Baldur's Gate release (even a lackluster one) will result in a BG3 (as long as it sticks to the originals' heart and soul) and I would happily buy and play such a game. Until then I will walk about with crossed fingers and toes.

And if the Nietzsche quote is gone from the enhanced ed then I say boo. 6.0 it is...
