Why are you just buying PS3 exclusives? Plenty of good games that are shared on both systems. Most of them, actually. Xbox 360 has just a few more good exclusives than the PS3, but it depends on your taste.

Please, don't take this as an attempt at trolling. I have been a member of this site for a while, and this is not my first account, so it is my right to know.
I used to think the whole Jeff Gerstmann thing was a one-time incident. However reading Sam Kennedy's famous blog entry about Gamespot made me think it was only the first of many more fix'd reviews to come. You may think I'm crazy, thinking that Tom Mc Shea's dramatic upping of score for the slightly-better Wii version of Sonic Unleashed happened due to outside pressure by Sega advertisers, or the high score given to the virtually broken PC version of GTA IV wasn't honest, but it's a very logical thought considering the circumstances.
My question is - is there still corruption in Gamespot? Are dishonest reviews still being spat out, even after the Jeff Gerstmann scandal?
Thanks.
I don't believe in reviewer bribery, (at least in this case)Black_Knight_00
Me neither. But Tom looks like the kind of guy that can be bossed around easily; I can easily see how CNET excecutive would have told him to give a certain review score, and he'd comply.
If you read the reviews for both version you'd know the explanation. The two versions are pretty different.

Not much explanation for a change this drastic in score.
Besides, if SEGA wanted to pay up Gamespot for a good score, don't you think they'd want more than a 7/10?
vashkey
But then people will get suspicious, don't you think?
I wonder how much money Sega payed CNET once they saw the 3.5 review of Sonic Unleashed for the 360
What other explanation there is?

When they fired that guy, why didn't they delete his reviews also? Seriously, one of the worst reviewers this site had seen. His Jak & Daxter review is an abomination. Every single one of his cricisisms are retarded and he completely missed the game's actual flaws.
"...you'll sometimes be asked to fetch items in other levels and bring them back to who needs them" - Never happened.
"Other objectives include ... reaching the top of especially high structures" - Vague description of something much more complex.
"The major problem with the level design is that there are no warp points within them." - There are 5-10 warp point each level.
"By modern standards, Jak and Daxter have a limited number of moves" - Same number of moves most platformers/action-adventure games had at the time.
"The biggest issue with Jak and Daxter's gameplay ... is that it takes just three hits from an enemy to spell doom for Jak" - For Mario too.
Now that I think of it, the whole review is just **** He spent all this time pulling out criticisms out of his ass then concluding Jak & Daxter is "the best 3D platformer available for the PlayStation 2" and giving it an 8.8. Tool.
Disagree, the game is mainstream and casual and the sales figures prove it. It has very mediocre gameplay and is completely style over substance. Kind of like Soul Calibur and Mortal Kombat outsell the far superior fighter, Virtua Fighter.Needles-Kane
Try God/Titan mode.
"Cult" would imply that a game failed to garner mainstream popularity but still had a strong following among the hardcore crowd. GoW has sold millions upon millions of copies.UT_Wrestler
I suppose my definition of "cult" differs from your. By "cult" I meant that the series was only truely appreciated and explored by a limited group of people. It sold millions, yes, but most people rejected additional gameplay options after initial beat.
