@Mevrick: What makes you both draw conclusions about how these companies will treat their customers? No such provider currently exists and I've never seen a suggested business model for one.
If you automatically brand these companies as exploiters or evil doers that's your business.

I see great potential in these things if the right company offers the right model, and I'll gladly sacrifice some things in order to be exposed to truly next generation games.

I don't understand the hate people have towards this approach to gaming. Yes it puts a lot of power in the hands of the company providing the service, but if that company does it right then it shouldn't be a problem. Don't like that company? Then choose another or don't use it at all.

I think it's a very nice option to require me only to have a good internet connection (which you need anyways if you play any multiplayer) and be able to play every single game at high graphics settings and smooth frame rates. Not to mention that you practically remove hardware constrictions from developers so they can create amazing things this way. This thing, if done right, can make game development leap forward exponentially.

What is this game news nonsense? What does this have to do with the new Star Wars movie?

Looks very promising, glad to see it's starting to shape up. Too bad it looks many years away from release, so I try not to get too attached to this right now.

Cool. I certainly enjoyed System Shock 2 more than the Bioshock games, will keep an eye out.

I usually don't attend the juvenile console wars. If graphics were a bit downgraded or something like that, it doesn't really bother me since its just cosmetics. But these kind of things just make my blood boil. At least they didn't cut out content(as far as I can understand) but it still doesn't make it right to chop down a game into pieces like this because of machine limitations, especially when the original was a full fledged game.
I guess I have to see the price for each episode to pass judgement, but something tells me it wouldn't be a favorable price.

@aguering: I actually find the androgyny of anime men quite unsettling, I very much dislike it about the art style. In the original FF7 you could barely tell the difference between men and women anyways(graphics wise), so you could get away with a scene like that. But seeing it in full detail will probably make me cringe.

@Kryptonbornson: Since FF7 onwards, besides FF9, they pretty much abandoned the medieval settings and went with cyberpunk and even space opera settings. I personally didn't really like these things so I still enjoy the older ones more(I also enjoy the turn based combat more), and FF9 which was perfect in my eyes.

BTW FFVI was always named VI, it was called 3 only in north america since it was the third FF game to be released there.
