@nyran125tk And as a side note, a desert eagle is probably the worst choice in the world to use in actual combat. It's used only for sports and hunting, since it weighs about 2.5 kg(a "normal" pistol weighs around 750 grams), and uses a 0.5 inches caliber which pretty much makes every shot feel like being kicked in the face. so no combat unit with a right mind would use it.

@pandamonium000 @Mevrick I'm sorry, I still don't see how one gets the impression of video games being evil in any way from this video, it simply wasn't the subject

@pandamonium000 He wasn't really making an argument about whether games make you wanna kill people, just if it can help train you in weapon proficiency.

@nyran125tk Ballistics is just one out of many things that you take into account while shooting a weapon, things that simply can't be simulated without holding a physical(and real) weapon in hand.

@VeeArSick @Mevrick There are a lot more little things to consider, but all together improves your accuracy(especially for long distances) like your breathing, stance, steadiness, grip(like you mentioned) and more.

I was a combat soldier for many years(And still am as a reservist) and I fired a wide array of weapons. I can tell you that playing games is nothing like the real thing. The only thing I think that a game can improve is reflexes and response time, but when firing weapons you need to consider recoil and ballistics(Where you aim is not exactly where you hit, depends on distance), and if a person is not trained for that then he'll simply hit very poorly. This shows especially when using pistols, with an effective range(in a real life situation) of about 20 meters if you are really really good.

Not to mention that firing at a moving target in a real event is NOTHING like firing in a nice relaxed shooting range with all the time in the world. So I believe that commercial games training for actual combat is far fetched.

@AdamDuffield1 @Mevrick Heather was a fine female protagonist, Cate Archer from No One Lives Forever too in my opinion. But the strong female lead that impressed me the most was The Boss from Metal Gear Solid 3.

@dr_jashugan She also starred the last 30 mins of the original movie while wearing very small panties and a tank top, so I don't really see how it supports the claim.
