Man!! That looks awesome, will the PS3/360 support this? Also what game is that?

quick_hurry

I think it's for Computer, I don't know if the Ps3/360 could support it or not but it's OpenGL so the Ps3 might have a chance. I don't know if it's a game, it was used in a comparison between OpenGL and DirectX.

Crysis has met its match. This is a representation of OpenGL 2.1

Wii games look bad because of the PS2. Developers are just porting decent PS2 games to the Wii, which is capable of much more. Personally I think The Conduit looks great in motion and look back at Super Mario Galaxy for some stunning visuals. TheColbert

They never consider that. Anytime I link a Conduit video, they say "Well, it's Youtube compressed videos not showing the flaws", despite Youtube recently gaining the ability to watch videos in HD.

[QUOTE="Shadow2k6"]Its not HD and Wii's tech is closer to last-gen then to current gen. Thats why they look bad.Itinerant_Voice

That's just ignorant. According to Factor 5, the Wii can do nearly all the effects the 360 and Ps3 can. Of course, you won't listen. I'll bet you're in denial that the Wii can do normal mapping, which it did in Dewy's Adventure. Factor 5, why listen to them? I mean, they got bump mapping and light scattering on the Gamecube, but their statements don't count for jack. Also, take a look at Gears of War on an SDTV and tell me it still looks way better the best of Wii. Just because the Wii can't do HD, doesn't mean it isn't a pretty powerful system.

And yet, with minor tweaking, a PC Gamecube emulator is capable of running Wii games. I guess it all depends on your definition of pretty powerful. The Xbox was pretty powerful but it still came out in 2001, it's still last-gen.

I hope you realize the fact of the matter. The Wii's processor is near twice as strong as the Gamecube, it has much more fillrate than the Xbox 1, and, according to Factor 5's statement, can do nearly all the effects the 360 and Ps3 can. But, you know what? I don't even need to argue anymore. Anyone that argues against the Wii using THAT kind of program, that would run on a computer much more powerful than an Xbox 360 or a Ps3, isn't worth arguing against. You lose.

ye why does the wii version of multiplatform games look identical on the ps2s?? Are the developers lazy so they just like port the same game to the wii??FILIPINOMAZTER

YES! Many developers laze out and stick to Ps2 development kits. Companies, especially Factor 5, have confirmed that the Wii has several times as much ability for fill rate effects as the Xbox 1 did. But, what would I know? Factor 5 only made Rogue Squadron and Rebel Strike, 2 Gamecube games that used bump mapping, light scattering, etc.

[QUOTE="IIJuggaNottII"]Why does it still look so bad? C'mon....Wii owners confirmed that they DO love CRAP.....so Nintendo is more than willing to serve them up loads of it. Its not a matter of "If it aint broke dont fix it"....Its more like " Its broke....nobody is complaining .....so dont fix it". LoL. Bigboi500
You're saying since I own one and like some of it's games that I "love crap"? If so that's not only condescending but inflaming and ridiculous. Just because the games on it may not be your style don't mean all the games on it are "crap".

Let's think for a second. I have a computer with a powerful 8800GT card so I can get any PC game, which the Xbox 360's better titles are also available on, and none of the Ps3 games interest me so, I could say the Xbox 360 and Ps3 are "worthless pieces of trash" just because I have no use for them.

[QUOTE="AvIdGaMeR444"]Nintendo had to use a lot of tricks to get Super Mario Galaxy to look good. Look at the game. Very colorful, but a lot of areas have big gaping black backgrounds since Mario is in space. Using a ton of empty black space in the background takes up far less graphical power. If Nintendo had even tried to make a sequel to Super Mario Sunshine using color everywhere, they probably would be struggling to even get a game looking as good as Sunshine. I love Galaxy, but the A.I. is actually far worse than in Sunshine. Another hint that Wii just cannot handle good A.I. programming. Also, look at Metroid Prime 3. It barely looks better than MP2...but the load times are even worse and more plentiful because Wii just cannot handle it. The framerate dips pretty badly at times also. I'm really beginning to believe that Wii is not more powerful than Gamecube at this point. Sure, Nintendo released specs of the Wii, but do we really know for sure those are accurate? And for people who say Super Mario Galaxy looks better than anything on Xbox. Oh really? Remember Chronicles of Riddick, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory?Shinobishyguy
bashing a mario game based on it's character AI :| now i know this is nothing but flame bait.

Not to mention, the loading times aren't that bad. I could make the same argument against A LOT of PSP games.

[QUOTE="Willy105"][QUOTE="Itinerant_Voice"]

Sadly, that won't matter. The 360 will sell for $49 by then and the Wii HD will sell for $299. All I can recommend to Sony and Microsoft is that they "adapt" the Wii's "innovations" ASAP. Motion controls, Wii fit, whatever they can get away with.

Itinerant_Voice

$299? That doesn't sound like Nintendo. That's too expensive.

Okay then, $249. Either way it would be grossly overpriced... just like the Wii is now relative to the 360.

How? Oh, that's right, you mean the arcade Xbox 360. The one without a hard-drive, xbox live, memory cards of any kind and only has a wired controller. THAT Xbox 360.
