Well step 2 would mean going into the Router's config and manually changing the MTU setting from automatic to manual. Using an MTU setting such as 1400.
This is done by typing the IP address of the Router into the browser (such as internet explorer). Which will bring you there. Usually u need a password to be allowed in.
To find the router's IP address you will need to know the IP address of your gateway. So click Start, then Run. Type CMD
It will open Comman Prompt.
Type ipconfig
That will tell you the IP of ur PC, the subnet and the Gateway(router)
From there, your on your own. Each router is different. You will need to consult the manual or the vendor for more details on setup.
OR, just type in 192.168.1.1 to get into your router.
if that does not work try:
192.168.0.1
192.168.123.254
192.168.2.1
One of those will work because that covers almost every major router manufacturer.
Then your external ip for your router is in your router menu.
