Hey all, I have a Wii that is having some problems. I bought it from a guy on craigslist quite a while back, and it worked perfectly fine for awhile. But now I'm getting these disc read errors more frequently now when I put in a game. It loads up fine and I press start on the cd menu, then I get the green screen saying to take the disc out and restart the Wii. Sometimes I'll do this 2 or 3 times before the game starts properly.

Also, the Wii often times is loud, and it sounds like it's having trouble internally, like it's scratching the disc or something. So, if there are some problems with it, and some more serious ones arise, can I send it to Nintendo to get repaired, even if for a fee, or would I have to buy a whole new one?

Nah, I don't have a 360.

I was mainly concerned that I heard their D-Pads weren't that great. One of the primary reasons I'm getting a gamepad is to play fighting games so I'd like a good D-Pad.

Anyone have experience with this? http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-963335-0403-Precision-Plug-Gamepad/dp/B00030AX3Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1214606175&sr=1-1

Seems well-rated (and is top selling gamepad) although the price leaves me to worry it might not be good.

Hey, I was interested in getting a new gamepad (possibly two) and I was wondering what sort of gamepads you guys would recommend?

Hey, thanks for the replies.

I'm sorry but I've been in the middle of writing two 8 page essays, so I haven't had time to try out the suggestions, but I certainly will tomorrow.

If there was a problem with one of the ram sticks, could it somehow cause the computer to just not boot up at all?

Hey, I've had this computer working absolutely fine for a few months. A very basic list of some of the parts is a q6600, nvidia 8800gts 320mb, 2 gigs of ram, vista ultimate.

Anyways, a few days ago, I was just reading some reviews on something I had bought on ebay, and suddenly I get the blue screen of death, saying a bunch of cryptic gibberish. Soon the PC shuts down, I think at that point it was just a random error. When I reboot the computer, I get this clicking noise around the harddrive area, and the PC goes incredibly slow. I try inserting the vista disc and figure maybe it's a problem with the os or I need to reformat.

It goes just as slow loading the windows disc, and freezes before I get anywhere. I open the PC up, I check to make sure everything is firmly attached and nothing is blocking or getting in the way of each other. Everything seems fine, I try booting up again, same problem.

Then, I tried moving the RAM cards to the different slots. I just an obnoxious beeping noise when I start it, so I move them back to their original positions. Now, I don't even get anything coming through to the monitor. Everytime I start it, I can hear the fan loud and clear, but nothing comes through to the monitor. And if I just barely press the power button, it turns off, as opposed to having to hold it for a few seconds.

Can anyone figure out how to solve this thing? Thanks.

Hey all, I have a 400 gig harddrive, I currently have about 85 or so gigs remaining. In the past I always knew it was bad, performance wise, to run games if you have say like 1 gig left or so on your harddrive. When I had an 80 gig drive before I upgraded, I tried to keep about 10-15 gigs free to keep it clutter free and running good. So, my question is, is the amount of free space you need to get good performance proportional, IE I'd need closer to 80 gigs on my 400 gig for good performance, or is it still just about 10-15? thanks..

He's lying. The demo doesn't support quad cores, only the full game I guess. I own a quad core and it only utilizes two cores right now. After reading the forums and such, it seems that way for everyone.

Hey guys, my headphones as of recently are starting to die (lost sound in one ear already)

I figured this is a good time to get a new set of headphones, but another thing I'd really like to get is one with a mic attached. Needless to say, when I'm walking around in public listening to my mp3 player I don't want to look like some damn telemarketer or something with the mic and stuff, but I'd like to use it when i'm gaming and such.

So basically, my question is, does anyone know any headphones/headsets with a detachable mic?

This is a self built computer, very basic specs are 400 gig harddrive, q6600 cpu, 8800gts 320 mb and 2 gigs of ram, windows vista ultimate. For some reason the damn thing won't run standing up. Actually, I recall that statement.. It runs for about 30 seconds before it just shuts down. But it runs perfectly fine laying on it's side. Hell, I can run Supreme Commander and CS:Source at the same time, it plays perfectly for as long as I want, but if I stand the computer up normally, it shuts off in like 30 seconds or less. Then if I try to turn it on, it only stays on for like 5 seconds.

I've never had this stupid problem, and to be honest when I first built this computer and installed Vista on it, it never had this problem either. I had it for a few weeks before I moved to my new apartment. I even stopped by one of my friends house's and had a lan party with it, worked perfectly. Got to my new apartment, had problems with my internet modem (it was a dud) and as I was trying to fix it, the PC just shut off (it was standing up) and I've had this problem ever since. What the hell could it be? I made sure everything was nice and tidy inside, it looks like fairly good airflow..
