I do get the feeling some Gamespot reviewers are doing this whole "8" thing on purpose... They seem to be against a scoring system, yet they know without scores a lot of people would stop checking for their reviews. The only few who don't really seem to play it safe are Kevin, Chris, and Shaun.
Either way, I wish the others would find the testicular fortitude to give these games honest ratings outside of their comfort zone.
That said, Transistor does look like a "great" game.
@TomMcShea @M3o5nster So you giving a bunch of 8s is your way of boycotting the scoring system?.. I'm jk of course, but in a weird way, it could be true.
Maybe look at scores as, 'how happy are you that you bought this game', instead of how "good" is this game overall... Since many people use scores to determine whether or not to drop hard earned cash on a game. I know you review the games for free, but try to put yourself in the shoes of the consumer.
I'm sure many people agree with your opinions and value your judgement; even if I'm not normally one of them, I still respect your thoughts. Good writing on this one.
