Trauma Center: Second Opinion is great even if you have beaten the DS version. It adds a few new missions, and the visuals are a nice welcome. Red Steel is a fun game in my opinion. Don't buy into the naysayers until you have played it yourself. WarioWare is a fun little game as well.
Yeah.. any recent Mario game takes more than 4 hours to beat. If you get all the shines/stars as well, then it will take you even longer and be tougher.
