I never go without highspeed internet myself anyway. But making it a requirement for me to have it is pointless. This requirement was ONLY set in place because XBOXone planned to block used game sells and this is how they did it. They since then have changed their mind about used games from blacklash as did PS4. But havent changed requirement for online service. Not only does the government control our every move now ms is stepping in. Xbox says its a system for gamers built by gamers (instructed by corporate money control hungry big cats). They just left that last part out. ms thinks they are to big to be hurt by these bad moves. They will be the next sega. Never have I neen a PS fan. But that will be my next system.

Putting it on the gamer will only ensure that the game intended will lose gradual players until only core game fans are left making matches and games harder to get into. Used games benefits the person who never sold the game more Imo.
HOW TO DO IT
XBOX and game publishers should take a cut from gamestops used game sell. Like government takes taxes from Amazon. And yes gamestop could just raise the price of the game to make up for it but it wont help them. Because no one would buy it. Game stop would rather make $20 from a game then nothing.
