I have all the respect in the world for Dyack and his crew, and Eternal Darkness is easily my favorite Gamecube game.

A sequel to ED would be okay, but I'd be happy with anything from Silicon Knights on the Wii. That's highly unlikely since they're focusing on Too Human, though. If that franchise goes according to plan, they might be working on it for a loooong time to come. And that's fine with me.

Edit: Looking at the other replies, I have to tell you to read beyond the first two sentences of that blog entry. Dyack didn't confirm a sequel in any way; he's just confirming that there are more stories to be told in that universe. Anyone who has written a story set in another reality should know exactly what he means.

I never said a Sequel was confirmed. I merely posted the link and there is a "possibility" of ED2.

This is interesting. Yeah it's a little old, but maybe it's still in development and an Eternal Darkness on the Wii making use of gesture controls would be amazing.

It seems like a great idea being open world and all. My only problem was that I wished there was more views. I would have preferred a further chase cam.

Yeah oddly enough not a bad game for it's time. However would Nintendo want to rehash an old game starring an aging accused pedophile?

I mean think about Mike Tyson's Punchout. After the rape conviction, it quickly became just Punchout.

EA and 2K went through the trouble of releasing nhl games on the ps3, a console with a much smaller user base than the wii. What's their excuse for not bringing it to wii?m_1116

I think that the problem is because they don't want to release a "button pressing gameplay" based Hockey game and have yet to figure out how to do motion controls effectively for a game as fast paced as hockey. Most likely Nunchuck would be for movement/side steps/spins/checking and the Wiimote would be your stick for shooting/poking/stick dekes/passing/face offs.

I'm guessing because football is so slow compared to hockey that they were able to effectively map the controls. I think some people are ight on here. Next year we should see some hockey action on the Wii. It's unfortunate but if done right, regardless of graphics/framerates, alot of people will never play hockey the old fashioned way again. As it is I play NHL 08 on my 360 and tried 2K8 and it was horrible. I will never go back to button based hockeyplay again.

[QUOTE="LeperMessiahXX9"]

Let's not forget that it's not even football, but you might call it handball or somethingt o that effect since the only time a foot touches the ball is a punt or an extra point. And I gotta say you are being pretty biased on the whole subject. I see merits to both sports. And whatever man to the rest of the World being more into Olympics based hockey and thsat the NHL is like arena football. Did you ever notice that the best players in the world all strive to be in the NHL?

And for the record I also like NFL. I'm Canadian and can't stand the CFL, but for me there is nothing as fast paced and as exciting as an NHL game. Also as for the track record on Nintendo systems..., NHL had a pretty strong track record since NHL 94 on the SNES. I know beacuse I have been playing hockey games on Nintendo systems since NHL Ice Hockey and then the awesome Blades of Steel.

I think maybe you should get your facts straight. Every Montreal Canadiens game sells out instantly. And no I'm not a Habs fan. I'm Philly all the way. I bleed Orange and Black.

Jaysonguy

You should see a doctor about that.

It's not about the quality of both sports it's about selling units and finding a audience for a game.

That's what I guess all hockey fans are having in common when it comes to this thread? The inability to see that Nintendo does not have an gauge of an audience and in the US the NHL isn't popular. Heck hockey isn't even popular in Detroit anymore which is really saying something. Other teams have such low attendance that they're close to forfeiting on their lease.

I don't know what year of hockey you're watching but it's not 2007.

In the US the NHL is on the bicycling network where the majority of the country doesn't even know what channel it's on if they want to watch it. It is not showcased at all. Everyone has dropped the league when trying to pull in an audience. They've moved on to other sports and in the case of NBC they've decided to fill their time slot with American Gladiators instead of hockey.

In order to sell a game you need to make sure that you have people to buy it. Whatever dev takes a shot at hockey on the Wii is going to have to spend money upfront to get it going. It's just common sense that they want to cover their investment.

Trust me fanboy....enough people would buy a hockey game on the Wii to justify it. And really who gives a damn about NBC showing NHL. Let's not forget that in the U.S. people couldn't seem to follow the puck for some reason and had Fox create the glowing puck trail, which is the stupidest thing I have ever seen in sports. Also do you realize that as much as you may argue your point and I will argue mine. You are but one lonely citizen of the U.S. and I one lonely citizen of the great country of Canada, where hockey was invented. You talk national pride. Canadians are proud of a few things. Mostly hockey and beer. We tend to take both very seriously.

Why don't you contact EA Sports and ask them how well the hockey franchise has done over the years. Ask them if it's worth it releasing a hockey game in the U.S. And of course it's common sense to cover your investment. As well they should. And yeah smart A$$ the SEASON not the YEAR of hockey I am watching is 2007-2008. And really do you think Nintendo, ( A Japanese consortium with branches worldwide), would consider not releasing a game based on the USA? Not likely considering there are nation specific titles released all of the time. And if you want to talk messed up....listen to what you said. Your country has it's own bicycling network. LMAO
