ignore this review. try the demo and make up your own mind. i had zero expectations when i tried it out. i was surprised how much fun the sniping and stealth components were. picked it up on steam and i'm lovin it. 8.0 for me.
its kinda of amazing how Bioware DESTROYED so much of their good reputation after just 2 games. and when you consider that DA2 in particular sold poorly you have to wonder what was it all for? if they were selling 20m+ copies of their games since the dumbing down started you could make an argument that abandoning their rpg fans was worth it. as it is it makes this all the more bizarre.
@ sircyrus that would be a better way to handle it. that would require more work though... the thing with Bioware these days(since EA) is that they are always looking for ways to cut corners. EA does'nt give them time to make rpgs the way they used to, forcing them down a path of streamlining and laziness. i believe it was David Gaider a bioware writer(who wrote anders) that said making EVERYONE bisexual was simply easier then making specific characters with SET sexual orientations. bioware is a dev. known for its engaging, likeable,believable characters and story. but if recently bioware has been failing at its MAIN strength what does it have left? Bioware CREATED this controversy as a result of laziness and selling out to EA
BS article. NO ONE had an issue with homosexuality in bioware games before Dragon age 2. in DA2 the issue that spawned so much hatred(besides that the game was a super streamlined mess) was how the homosexuality was represented. making Ander militantly gay the guy instantly reacted negatively to you if you did'nt flirt with him back. essentially limiting freedom withing the game. if you want to have a good relationship with the guy you have to be gay with him. also making every other character unrealistically bisexual was just lazy and disrespectfull of gay people when you think about it
