I was just thinking about how my first ps2 barely lasted a year. The motor died. I found out from a game store employee that it was because I watched dvd movies on it, and played it vertically. This puts roughly 4 times as much stress on the machine. Otherwise I took very good care of my ps2, even unplugging it when I was done playing. Sony was well aware of these facts, yet I never saw any warnings. I didn't have a dvd player back then because they were so expensive. So I used the ps2 to watch all my movies once I got spoiled on the better picture and special features. This new blu ray format for the ps3 is making me wonder if this is going to happen all over again. If I paid $600 for a plastic box to play games on and it went out for a reason like that, I would be extremely pissed. I could care less which system sells better and I like to play all the games that I can. There's just no way I'm shelling out that kind of money for something that everyone knows is going to be high risk for the first few months. I'll never understand people that put all their faith in these greedyass companies. Money is the bottom line. If more people used common sense we wouldn't always be getting ripped off and deceived.
