The sad thing is that thousands of people dieEVERY DAYas a result of famine or civil unrest or AIDS. and yet no one rushes to honour their memory.

Do you think we'll ever see the likes of FFXIII on 360, or Halo 3 on the PS3? If so, what wouldbe the consequences for the videogame industry?

There was a time (think 1990-2000) when such influentialtitles would never go multiplatform. Butsuddenly we've got DMC4 and VF5 on the 360, FFXI and Halo 2 on the PC, Oblivion and GRAW on the PS3. Hell, even Sonic and Mario are getting along these days.

Seems like the very concept of the "exclusive" is becoming old hat, or at the very least fleeting. This is particulaly the case for the 360 and PS3. Not since the SNES and MEGADRIVE have two competing platforms been so similar on a technological level - to the extent that for many developers, it makes more sense (and money) to develop games that can be ported to both platforms.

Personally? I foresee a future where game consoles are like DVD players. Where no one cares about the hardware, because it's all pretty much standardized.Where anyone with a Nintendo controller can play WiiSports on their Xbox. Or whereyou can watch Hi-Def Battlestar on your Sony console using the 360's HD-DVD add on.

But more importantly, how awesome would that be? 8)
