This seems like an interesting choice, let's see what happens.
So if KA got negative points, would that have been cut in half, or doubled? You should put a link to the table in the one of the top posts.XSamFisherX
Great point! A re-count is in order! :P
- 4 Races, 4 Winners, 4 Different teams winning and 4 different championship leaders. Will anyone, if possible, be able to take a step ahead of the competition from this weekend?
I would consider this rather unlikely. As Sam points out Kimi is the only one really capable of such a feat. Will we see a new 2012 winner? Possibly, will we see a new points leader? Likely. If at all possible I'd like to see Kimi or Schumi win here. - Speaking of four, Mark Webber has finished every race so far in 4th. Will he be able to get on the podium this weekend?
Maybe. The Red Bull didn't look too bad at Mugello and did a stellar job in Bahrain but neither of the tracks are representative of Barcelona's layout. Malaysia is probably the best indicator of relative performance for this coming weekend given it is probably the closest in terms of layout to Barcelona. Alonso won there with changeable weather conditions but the Saubers and Loti looked good most of the weekend so who knows. - It was a strong 2-3 finish for Lotus in Bahrain - will they be able to win their first race since 2008 at some point this year?
As mentioned before I want to see it happen. Will it? I can't be sure. Last season they fell off the map by virtue of not keeping up in the development race and I imagine this year won't be much different, they just don't have the same kind of budget as the "big four". The drivers can certainly find performance in the car and of the top 5 cars the Lotus seems the most forgiving and well-rounded. - Is a sharing deal between the two Spanish locations (here and Valencia) a move in the right direction for F1?
I agree with Sam here. I see the point of a Spanish feature don't get me wrong - they just need a decent circuit for it. If one had to leave (and it will) it'd have to be Valencia in my book. Doesn't mean I want to keep Catalunya though! - As a circuit used for a GP event in F1, do you feel it's right for the Circuit de Catalunya to be a Winter Testing venue as well?
It makes some sense to use an in-calender circuit for testing in order to find a benchmark and the circuit is fairly well rounded in that it tests the joe average circuit (at least in some places). It would make more sense to test at Paul Ricard in France given how versatile the place is and how many configurations can be used.
