Srry ronnie I should have mentioned about the optic camo, but what I meant was that snow camo was not invented til the late 70's i believe, which is after the time of the Cold war in which Naked snake is fighting all other camos were created during or before that time
It is said that the people who give Naked Snake the title of BIG BOSS are actually the Patriots, though they would not be the original founders of the organization as in MGS 2 during the BIG SHELL incident which was set in 2009, which at the end of the mission we do find out that the Partriots have been dead for over a hundred years. Now, since the Cold War was only back in the mid 60's (1964), of course, those were not the original PATRIOTS, but I do believe that this answer should be sufficient.
Actually BIG BOSS lost HIS RIGHT (our left from a 3rd person perspective) eye, Tis snake who wears the Solid Eye on his left eye (but he still has a left eye, it is what will be used as the new binoculars and such).
